Had an old Honeywell thermostat, and put on a new Nest one and had nasty looking backing. Bought this backplate because it came with a metal plate for mounting. The side cuts on the metal plate ended up being perfect distance to fit the existing wall screws.Simple installation, and looks really sleek once installed.

We received the Tstat as a Christmas gift. Looked for a way to mount and found this on Amazon. Fits right over the old box allowing the new Tstat to easily mount to it

The plate was good. However, I was replacing a rectangular thermostat control and the curvatures of this plate allowed old paint to show from the corners!I had to return it.

I couldn't use the mounting plate due it's thickness. The steel plate made the decorative wall cover stick out away from wall. I just used the decorative wall plate sans the steel mounting plate...... Looks okay, I guess.
