This is a very nice and easy to use thermostat. Installation was simple, and well guided through the app. I did run into one issue during setup, where at the end it indicated it paired with my app however it wouldn’t show up in the app. I had to tell the thermostat to unlink from my account and once I did it generated a new code to link, and linked right up. Since then there have been no issues.I like how much easier this is to work with compared to my previous Nest thermostat. That was clunky to set schedules and get it configured how I want. This offers so much more in ease of use, and I like the thought I can add on as a security system if I desire. I wish the door sensors to adjust the thermostat didn’t require a security subscription, or I would update to include that right away! Otherwise, lots of great functionality and much preferred over the Nest.

I got this right before Amazon announced their terms of service change that allows them to save every recording Alexa makes, and there's no way to opt out any more. Given that this device has a microphone and is capable of interacting with Alexa/Amazon, I can no longer in good conscience actually install it for privacy reasons.They also changed the mounting plate since my old one was made, for ... reasons I guess? So it was going to actually take work to replace my old one, because the changed it mechanically and moved around how the wires attach. That's not a huge deal, but it is annoying.I'm going to still give it two stars though, for its own brand. My old ecobee thermostat is great, and has no microphone as it's from the pre-digital-assistant era. I'm just disappointed to see ecobee going down the surveillance capitalism road like this, and while I more or less trust them I absolutely do not trust Amazon or Google to have access to a microphone in my living room.

Just what I was looking for. AC condensers can be damaged by running when the outside temp is below 60 degrees F. My house is large and when the sun has shone all day, it can take quite awhile for the roof and brick to cool. Consequently, my AC’s will run in the evening after the sun sets and the temperature has dropped. After searching and researching I gave this one a try. It does everything I need. Great value and quality for the price.

This works great with our Rheem A/C / Heat Pump and was recommended by the AC company as it works very well with Rheem. Easy to install and wire, there are numerous YouTube videos showing how to install it. Took about 30mins to remove the old and put this one upEcobee Smart Sensors really help maximize this smart thermostat. They are awful expensive but worth it for a few. We have smart programs to cool specific rooms throughout the day. The office is cool during the work day and the living / kitchen during the evenings, and bedrooms at night. You can really customize what room you want at the right temp (although this means other rooms may be overly hot / cold)Had to reach out to. Ecobee’s chat twice for help and each time they resolved my issue quickly and professionally. Even did some remote diagnostics to troubleshoot my issueOverall, I’m a huge fan and glad to have this smart thermostat!

Nice app features for tracking HVAC usage. Programming in the app interface really could be easier, but is no harder than a typical thermostat. The wifi-app control is nice for monitoring and easy control wherever you are. I haven't used an original ecobee, so I can't compare how it differs. This may be harder info to find, but the minimum temperature you can set heat to is 45 degrees F. I wanted to buy another to control remotely in an outbuilding that would only need to be kept at 36-38 degrees, but this particular thermostat won't help there. Also, they do make a trim kit to cover up typical thermostat area if you are replacing with this smaller footprint. I'll probably just fill the holes and touch up the paint. Would recommend otherwise.

EcoBee is a great TStat and easy to install. I did have to modify the wiring in the motor compartment but You Tube to the rescue there!After getting this going it works great! I turned off the smart learning and just set a schedule, but have had no issues since.Good remote access and super happy with this unit!

I love my new thermostat. I never thought I would have the need to say that. 😀 I am new to living in Florida and this winter the weather has been a bit colder than I anticipated. My old thermostat did not auto adjust. I kept forgetting to turn on the heat at night. I was waking up to temps in the 60s. Brrr! At a previous house I had an auto adjusting thermostat which switched from air to heat and vice versa as needed to keep temps comfortable. I settled on this one for the following reasons:1. Price - very reasonable for a smart device.2. Ease of use - I wanted something with not a lot of complex bells and whistles, but that could be easily installed and easily operated at the device or on my phone.3. Aesthetics - Has a nice interface and is kinda cute.4. Additional information - the app provides some additional useful info like the weather outside, the service records of my hvac unit, the expiration date of the uv bulb in my hvac unit, etc.5. Compatibility - which probably should have been #1. It had to work with my unit. I have a dual AC/furnace which is only 5 years old. I did run the Compatibility checker, which I highly recommend.Haven't found any downsides yet. Will update if I do.
