I have to say I was not sure if this motor would work for my needs. I have an old pontoon boat used for a swim dock on a lake. We need to get it out to the middle and anchor it. We do get some strong winds and it can blow the boat across the lake easily. This motor worked perfectly and faster than I expected. I installed it on the back and reversed the handle direction. This did not seem to create an issue with the internal wiring and it maneuvers great. In fact we can scoot around the lake pretty easily.

I purchased the 55" pontoon 86lb motor. The first one I received made a grinding noise and didn't function properly. It stopped working shortly after. Customer service (Nick) called me back within 24 hours and sent me a new one within 5 days. The second one I received doesn't even work (DOA) and now the customer service team is too busy to accept calls. I am guessing this has to do with poor quality products. Spend the extra money and buy a name brand motor. These are junk...or maybe I just have bad luck.
