Straight out of the box this tester recognized voltage even lower than its rated 90V. Every time I got even remotely close to a conductor, it was sending out a tone. Now, I am just a homeowner so my needs are not professional or anything. As long as I can tell if a circuit is live, that works for me. I like that it is a push button on/off and not a scroll wheel like my old tester. The brand name of this is kind of hoaky, seeing as how you can spell FLUKE with the letters and the colors are similar. Anyway, it is a decent tester for the average person at the very least.

Testing this in a socket, requires jamming it into the Live wire to get a signal. Just putting it close, will not register. Live wires, it works as expected. It even works to test if a USB C cable has power (maximum of 50 V) when the device minimum is 90 V. Not really an issue, but good to know it can work lower. Maybe it's because the power supply is a switching supply? The name to me implies it's a direct comparison to a Fluke live wire tester, ELUKF name should let you figure that one out.Overall, if you're looking for a live non-contact electrical tester, it does the job. As the instructions say, always test with a live circuit to ensure it's working before testing what you think might not be a live circuit.

My old contact tester just stopped working one day, it took heavy beating in my tool bag so I wasn't surprised. While browsing Amazon one day for electrical supplies a suggestion displayed for this non contact voltage tester so I decided to order it.Once it arrived I was surprised by the packaging and name which was oddly familiar. The product is made very well, with hard durable outer plastic shell. Its simple to use just a touch of a button to turn it on or off. There is 2 modes, silent or with buzzer. So far it works great and I think it will hold up in the tool bag better then my old one.

This is the first non-contact voltage tester I’ve ever purchased, and after using it for a while, I wish I had owned it during our home remodel—it would have saved a lot of time and effort. The tester is compact and easy to operate with a simple button on the side that activates it, signaled by a beep. As shown in the pictures, it can detect power through insulated extension cords, lighting up solid red to indicate an active current. When testing an unplugged cord, no light appears, confirming the absence of power. It also works seamlessly with outlets, whether inserted into the outlet or used to check the attached wiring. This tool would have been invaluable for identifying live and dead wires in our older home. I’d definitely recommend adding it to your essential toolkit.

My house is 80 yo with electricity wiring only slightly newer -the old cloth wrapped kind. So even with breakers off, I'm always a bit weary when changing out light fixtures or outlets, etc. This little tool has been a game changer for me in that regard!! I first tested it on live outlets & 3-way stairs light switches &. Then the same with some on, some off. It passed 100%. So then changed a light fixture & felt SO much more at ease after using it to confirm the wires weren't live. I worked slower, taking my time instead of rushing to try to hurry up and get out of there, but ending up making mistakes that actually made the task longer, lol!So yea, any & all handy folks - I definitely recommend this!

I had a bad experience in the past of changing a bad switch in our house. Even though I made sure that the circuit breaker was off to the switch in the area of the house and no light went out from the switch box, I did not realize there was another line that was hot passing through the same box bypassing the switch. This line drew power from a different circuit breaker but used the same nearby conduit. I received a bad shock by touching the wrong wire! I did not feel good for a while. Nothing life threatening but uncomfortable.Last time I had a electrical socket going bad in our house, I had an expert electrician who was using this similar voltage tester. He said he never trust any wiring scheme in any house. He make sure there are no hot wire anywhere nearby. So now I got one for myself. This voltage tester is really fail safe. It works with flashing light when active and when it comes near any active AC voltage of anywhere between 90-1000 volts, there will be a constant red light with buzzing sound. It comes with 2 AAA batteries installed and there is a low battery indicator for safety. It is compact and light, very handy to carry around. This is a great addition to safe working with any power level around the house or work place.

At first glance this non-contact voltage (NCV) tester is clearly intended to resemble the major brand-name device that is an anagram of the label name, to the point that the typeface and coloring is identical. The product is listed as KEMDIE brand and labeled as ELUKF on the device and packaging. Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but also copying the certifications for safety and function crosses a line for me.There are CE, CSA and C-Tick insignia on the bottom of the device. There is no CSA Group product listing under either brand name listed on the device or product page, and there is no other manufacturer information provided in the product instructions. The C-Tick registration number N10140 printed on the bottom belongs to Fluke Corporation, so it is spurious when placed on a different manufacturer's product. The device functions as intended within my limited testing. There are several NCV testers which are available which also function well but don't claim these certifications, and their price is less than half of this product. The certified products like the one this is imitating have higher prices due to, among other things, the costs associated with independent testing and certification. Noting that at least one of the claimed certification marks belongs to a different company, it does not seem like a good value with its higher price point.
