I saw an equivalent product advertised on a YouTube channel tutorial, so I decided to give this tester a try. This product is remarkably good at detecting the presence of current (AC or DC) - and without having to directly contact any wires or fixtures. Operation is super-simple and the tester provides easy to interpret visual and audible cues.

Very easy to use and sounds loudly and lights up when electricity is detected. The built-in led flashlight is great too. No need to hold a separate light in darker conditions. The light doesn't stay on but there's no reason you would need it too. Once you determine the electricity is off this tester has done its job. There's no on-off switch but I don't imagine there's much drain on the batteries when not in use. The only negative is that it doesn't come with the required two AAA batteries but that's a minor, one-time issue. This tester is well worth the cost!

Like the cost. Dislike the accuracy. Tried checking xmas light string. Didn't work out so good
