About this item

  • 【Newly Designed 22.5 degree Feature】 22.5 degree is a fair number of 8-sided objects in woodworking, also commonly used on two pieces when you want to join them to form a 45 degree angle. The new O’Shine 22.5 Degree Ratchet Miter Shear is capable of cutting 22.5 degree(or 157.5 degree), no need for you to draw out the electric miter saw for this angle when dealing with small wood or plastic trims. Besides, it is also designed to cut other two important angles: 0 degree(or 90 degree) and 45 degree(or 135 degree).
  • 【Labor Saving Ratchet System, Ergonomic Handle】O’Shine 22.5 Degree Ratchet Miter Shear is an upgraded version of O’Shine 22.5 Degree Miter Shear. It has an auto-stop ratchet system, long leverage handles with soft and thick PP+TPR grips, both can reduce your wrist stress and cutting force dramatically. This is a heavy-duty shear that can make angular cuts on molding, trim, plastic tubing, tack strip, quarter round, chamfer, round molds, trunking and PVC strips, rubber gaskets, weatherstrip, shoe mold, and any light material. Notice: Not for cutting metals.
  • 【Sharp and Durable SK5 Blade】The blade of O’Shine 22.5 Degree Ratchet Miter Shear is made of Japanese SK5 steel material, plated with hard chrome and heat treatment to HRC52. The cutting edge of each blade was ground piece by piece by experienced craftsmen, that is why our blades are very sharp and durable. If you need more replacement blades for O’Shine 22.5 Degree Ratchet Miter Shears after usage, just go to O’Shine Miter Shears’ page and order the 3pcs blades set, as they are using the same blades.
  • 【Unique Angle Adjustment Design】 The anvil of O’Shine 22.5 Degree Ratchet Miter Shear has Incised markings for 0°, 22.5° and 45°. The holes next to the marking can help you adjust to working angles quickly with just a “click” sound. The spring and iron ball inside will hold the fence position firmly so you can make a precise angular cutting. The anvil and movable fence are all made of fine aluminum alloy, large enough to hold objects with different thickness from moving, but also very light for repeatable and long-term jobs.
  • 【Fast Blade Changing, An Extra Blade Included】An extra blade with PP sheath, an Allen key and blade changing instruction are included in the package of O’Shine 22.5 Degree Ratchet Miter Shear. Just follow the instructions and you can replace the blade in less than 1 minute. Please remember to wear gloves while using the shear or changing blades.

I have a miter box (hand saw), and a miter saw (scary whirling electric saw), but what if you just want to make a quick picture frame, or need to repair one piece of trim? Enter these ratchet shears! It may take me some time to become really good with these, but I made a picture frame (well cut the pieces out anyways) in record time. The trim I was using was 1/4 or so thick and it cut through it very easily. I think if you need to miter things for crafts, these will do the job on most anything you would be working with. Likely for any basic trim your would use for baseboards. I am impressed, and so happy to have these! The ratchet does deliver on the promise of cutting without much hand strength needed. I have an issue with trigger thumbs, so I'm pretty careful not to strain my hands. I didn't have any problem using these.Pro-tip: Of course I was not interested in reading directions, which probably mention this, but there are angle options are on both sides of the dial. That is you can dial right or left for a 45 degree angle and when you change sides, the cut angles in the other direction for opposite corner meets. I may not be explaining that well, but if you do this sort of thing, you probably get me!

I'm only using these for tree branch cuttings 3/8" and less. Much larger than that, and the wood starts to shred the edges.

This is a well made tool. I ordered this to try and may my own picture frames and to cut quarter round moldings I’ve only tried it on small dowels with and against the grain and it cuts nicely. Handle has a nice grip and the tool is balanced nicely. It’s easy to adjust the angle of the cut. I don’t see it cutting more than a 1” wide piece of wood though. For that I’ll use my miter saw.

"I bought these for grafting trees in our fruit orchard and will be trying them out in the spring. They look well-made and should work great. The replaceable blade is a nice feature and can likely be sharpened with a sharpening stone. The consistent cutting angle should improve my grafting success rate. I tested them on a 1/2" PVC pipe and a stick about the thickness of my thumb—both cut easily and left a smooth edge. I’m confident they’ll handle small to medium branches with no trouble."
