I really like this oil filler cap tool for my BMW R1200. The filler cap head has a special shape that needs a specific tool to open, to keep people from tampering with it. I keep my tool under the seat, but I wanted another tool to keep handy so I can easily fill oil without having to take off my seat, and this way, I also have an extra. It is way cheaper than the usual BMW suppliers, and I won't be sad if I lose it. In some cases you might want it to be a little deeper but on my bike it works well. I would buy it if you have an R1200.

THis is a sturdy metal wrench that fits well in the oil fill fitting and small enough to store on the motorcycle.

This oil filler cap removal tool works great with both my R1200GS and R1200R, making it a great addition to my toolbox. It’s well-made, fits perfectly, and is much more convenient than using the tool that comes in the bike’s toolkit. The red finish looks good and makes it easy to spot among my other tools. If you do your own maintenance, this is a handy little tool to have on hand.

This is a very nicely made little tool. Long-time BMW motorcycle owners know that the oil cap is essentially flat with an indented area for removal and installation. Normally, one uses the handle end of the unique screwdriver that BMW includes under the seat of the bike to move that cap. This sleek aluminum tool is small enough to fit into your tool kit, pocket, or wherever; no need to remove the seat to get at the stock tool. There is only one downside: the tool doesn't have much depth, and an adventure bike (like my r1200gs) with engine protection bars doesn't have room to get this in there to do the job. So, for any bike that doesn't have "crash bars" around the cylinder head, this is a neat little tool.
