I recently got a masticating juicer for making my own orange juice. But a masticating juicer means I have to completely remove the peel before juicing.First off, I'd keep the oranges in the fridge so when I juiced them, the juice was also cold. Unfortunately that means my fingers were freezing by the time I peeled enough oranges for juice. Plus, I seem to lack the basic skills when it comes to peeling an orange. I understand how to do it but I just seem to be really bad at it.Then I got this tool. LOVE IT! It makes scoring the rind of the orange super easy and since I'm not using a knife, I feel much less worried I'm going to cut my hand open. Then, using the end to wedge between the peel and the flesh makes all the difference in the world. My finger tips aren't freezing cold and this just works so much better than my fat fingers. This weekend I flew through two dozen oranges in short order. This was also my first time using the thing, so I'm sure I'll only get faster as I use it more. This is such a simple tool but really takes the pain out of peeling oranges.

I like oranges, but I don't eat them as often as I want to because I hate getting the juice under my fingernails when I'm peeling them. So I chose this peeling tool with not so high expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. The "blade" part has a bit of curve where it's been sharpened (it's not too sharp, so the tool is safe for a kid to use), with the other side of the blade being up and down, straight metal. The handle part has a hole in it for hanging the tool from a hook.First you run the side of the blade over the orange skin, and I was pleased that it cut just through the peel without cutting the slice. Then the blade fits under the peel letting you move it around and pull the peel off without having to dig your fingers in. And then I found that using the back of the blade (the straight up and down part) let me scrape the white stringy pith free without damaging the fruit. The tool was very easy to use and I'm pleased with it, though I gave it 4-stars because there is a bit of a learning curve and starting out I squirted some orange juice onto my plate.

I've used plastic orange-peelers for many years, and they're OK, but still often a PITA to use. And they don't work well on fruitthat has a thicker, tougher rind. This metal peeler, though, is another story altogether. The blade is sharp enough to make an initial piercing effortless. It's also the right thickness to simply slide easily under the rind. Once it's in there, the broad "wings" of the blade are quite efficient at lifting the rind off an orange or grapefruit in a large slice.Overall, it takes maybe 10 seconds to peel an entire orange, 15 or 20 to peel a large grapefruit -- all with almost no effort. It's nice having a hard, sharp stainless steel peeler. This device will last forever. But the best thing about it is the thought that went into designing a tool that makes this mundane job a no-brainer.This simple, inexpensive little tool is just so well-designed and made from such high-quality materials that I'm actually eating more oranges now just to experience the pleasure of using it.Highly recommended!

I wasn't sure how this would work since I've never seen one lkike it, but it works better than any peeler I've used before. It's a nice, thick metal with starp edges that make peeling any thickness of peel a breeze. So easy to use! It fits perfectly in your hand and won't bend no matter how strong your grip is. You can't beat the price, either
