Isla's Garden Seeds

Isla (pronounced Eye-Luh) is the youngest in our family. We named our company after her because she is the anchor for the six of us, filling our home with a playful, vibrant, colorful joy, akin to a garden. If you've purchased seeds since the formation of our business in 2017, you may have received a rare packet with her photo on the front.

Disappointed, not only are there trash in between the seeds but some of them are empty shells…

The seed packet I received had less than 30 seeds in it, and the seeds that were in it were in pretty rough shape. It looks like I might have 5 seeds that have any chance of being viable. All the other seeds are broken and fragmented.Would not recommend this brand.

Notoriously hard plant Osage to get to germinate seeds and we’ve not had luck yet.

After working in Kentucky and finding out about these “hedge apples” I definitely want one in my yard! I’m trying my hand at trying to grow one from seeds.

Bought this with understanding they are very hard to germinate. So I waited until the hottest week in Michigan and buried the seeds in wet potting soil in two cardboard egg cartons and kept it moist and in the sun. Of all the seeds I got one plant, but that's all I needed. I kept the seedling in very moist soil and it seemed to do well in that!

I'm happy to report that 87% of the seeds in the packet germinated. Osage orange is not commonly planted here in the Los Angeles region, so these will be a local rarity.
