I didn't expect to use this anytime soon, but sure enough my brother-in-law has an Audi A4 which needed this accessory to compress the springs. You'll know when you watch a video clip on this model. I give 4 stars because it is not made for the StrutTamer Extreme II 6637-ST. It might work with smaller diameter springs if you flip the brackets inward.

The clam shell clamp that this is supposed to interface with has angled jaws to cradle a coil spring. Springs are circles. This bridge is parallel and doesn't fit.

Can't get the Bridge properly seated in the arms of the Strut Tamer. One of the brackets should be slightly longer, giving the pins an angle for the strut tamer jaws to sufficiently grab onto these.I plan to modify my Bridge accessory to accommodate the angle needed.

When used with the clamshell spring compressor model OTC 6494 for smaller struts it does not clip fully into the retainers. It is on a strange angle not allowing a straight compression of the spring (making it a huge pain to get it back together). I used it on an old Toyota Camry and it was NOT a safe operation. Note: the instructions were followed to the tee, and still needed to get creative to make it work. This is however a nice solid tool. If there is some other way than the clamshell compressor it could be quite useful.I should have bought the cheep all thread style compressor.

My husband and his friend are always working on cars and this is a great product. It is safer than what they used to do and saves them time.

I'm using mine with the OTC 6494 clamshell compressor on the front struts of my 2002 Honda Accord. It fits ok. Just ok. It was definitely safer than those auto parts store rental compressors, but it certainly could be better. It half-launched once because the hooks of my 6494 slipped off of the pins of the bridge. I wasn't paying careful enough attention to it. Has anyone done this safely and reliably? I'm thinking about grinding a relief on each of those fat pins so i can use the safety lock pins of the 6494 to attach more solidly to this. --MLFranklin

Made it possible to easily change struts when the exposed coil springs weren't long enough to compress with only the spring compressor. Saved hours on the jobs.
