Made a noticeable difference in lateral movement in two of my pergolas, both identical 10x10x10 and both without knee braces (1/3 of the 6x posts buried and encased in concrete). After completing one of them I was able to compare side-by-side on whether or not it made a difference when I pushed on the corner of each pergola. I'm in an area prone to hurricanes so the hurricane ties and a few nails didn't seem like they would be enough.One thing for the installer to note, it says no predrill required on the box, but it definitely needs pre-drilling. They come with lag screws that are not self tapping and they have thick shafts which are bound to split your box store 2x board.

I also wrote a review on other Ozco products I purchased. This is a continuation. I designed and built my first pergola for our patio in 1999. At that time decorative accents simply were not available. As I was researching hardware for this project I was amazed at what was on the market, especially Ozco's building products. I really think their robust hardware really makes a project stand out.I purchased numerous products of theirs to accent the rough cut cedar pergola as you can see by the photos. They are not cheap, but they are also not cheap in quality. I did spend a lot of all of them combined, but I really think they make the pergola look great.Many friends and family have commented on how great the black accents look, and plan to use them in their projects.

Worked just fine and is a nice on the eyes, only thing is screws need to be more aggressive. I swapped standard screws with a couple boxes of home depot black deckmate screws.

I was building a pergola and struggling with the price of the brackets available from my local Home Improvement store so was going to just go without and use more screws/bolts. The power of the internet must have flagged I had been searching for brackets on-line as a more cost effective option. While ordering some other things on Amazon, these rafter clips popped up!! They are the perfect items for my job and price is more then 3 times cheaper then what I had been considering at the box stores!! They install easily, look awesome, and are stronger then they look!
