I use these pan pastels on watercolour paper when sketching, or on pastel paper when doing a painting! Love them! Easy to apply, rich is pigment, easy to erase and blend! You have to wait a bit for delivery due to where they come from ,but we’ll worth the wait! Buy them, you won’t be disappointed!

I'm an amateur artist but I really wanted to use some white substance on black paper to do some black-and-white portraits.After looking on some YouTube videos, I found an artist who used PanPastel to make chaotic portraits. It didn't require drawing or hours of attention to detail (call me lazy) but with 15 to 30 minutes of shading and erasing this artist created some striking images.So I ordered PanPastel and faced my biggest fear:Making portraiture.And PanPastel was my silver bullet. It responds so well to rubbing, dabbing, light touches, erasing. It honestly made a total amateur like me somewhat competent with little to no training. Mostly because it's so forgivable as a substance.It's easily erased or colored over with something like vine charcoal. It can be used in a variety of ways to make weird and wonderful textures. And the product they send lasts a long time. I'm not even close to running out and I've been doing a portrait every two days. Plus there are a lot of shades to choose from in the package.I'd say go for it. Order this and play with it. Just make a mess and enjoy yourself.

I expected each color to come with it's own lid. It's neat how they all stack together, but they don't fit in a pencil box well that way, which is how I planned on storing them to carry with me. That's okay though! It did come with the tools, so you can start using them right away if you're a beginner like me

Well this will sound strange to some, but my husband builds and runs model trains. He uses the pastels to create weathering on his models. Trains are not clean and shiny when running on the rails, so he makes them sort off dirty and weathered. This product works really well.
