Seen the flatness of the design and thought, this thing is going to just bend. It was cheap price wise so gave it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised. Very sturdy and worked. No issues with it.

Used this tool to service the bottom bracket bearings in a kids bike. Regreased and repacked bearings and this tool was essential for tensioning. Good deal.

This tool was affordable for fixing a bottom bracket. I will probably never use the tool again but was cheaper than taking my bike to a bike shop for it to be repaired. the bottom bracket was stubborn and could not be removed using a cold chisel or bent long nose needle pliers.

Buona qualità, secondo me questo tipo di attrezzo dovrebbe essere progettato però con uno spessore maggiore.

I've devised substitutes and work around for this tool. Once I ordered this tool I thought "where have you been all this time." Great time saver and no more accidental gouging of a sprocket with a punch or sctewdriver.

Exactly what I was looking for. Arrived on schedule, howerver the package was left on our door, in the rain, and with no notification what-so-ever. I actualy walked on the package when I went outside. The notification came two days later. Not impressed.

Used this to service the crank on my 1971 Schwinn Super Sport: worked well. Park Tool has excellent documentation on their website as to how to remove, clean, and replace your crank.Where this tool really shines is when you are reassembling the crank on the bike. It allows you a higher degree of control on how tight the cone should be over, say, a flathead screwdriver.

The HCW-18 tool did the job I needed it to, a while back when I was working on a clients bike, this tool was exactly what I needed, to tighten the cone bolt. The tool did exactly as it was supposed to, plus since I was replacing the Bottom Bracket set anyway, the three notched sides help with getting the drive side cone bolt off and helped with tightening the new one. Since originally all I was using was a long flat headed screwdriver and a hammer, to both loosen and tighten the cone bolt on the Non-drive side. Now a hammer and Flat-headed Screwdriver do work especially if you don't have specialty bike tools for the job be that it due to the fact you can't afford the tools or whatever the reason, non-specialty tools do work. Plus there's plenty of times I've for example used a plumber's 18-inch adjustable wrench to remove a 3 piece axle nut type bottom bracket set for three piece, where the axle is a separate piece, the bearings are separate and the threaded cups are separate. So I completely understand and sympathize with those of you looking at this and thinking "That's way out of my price range." I totally understand I've been there before too. However, for those of you not sure if you should buy this let me first say it's not gonna get any cheaper brand new, sometimes you just have to bite the bullet. If your apprehensive about buying bike tools especially park tools, regardless if you're buying the tools individually as needed or buying them individually in bulk or buying a giant toolset in the thousands of dollars range, whatever and you know doing so will be great long-term but it just sucks short-term ask yourself the following questions: Why do I need these products? Would I get good use out of them? Would I put them in group #1 Tools I use all the time/daily? Group #2 Tools I need at hand but not all the time or are they Group #3 Tools I need and great to have but not as important as Group #1? If I use these tools a lot should I just buy them and get it over with? In my opinion yeah you should bite the bullet. Once you ask yourself these and maybe other questions, keep in mind that nothing is going to be handed to you, you want it, you work for it. Everything in life, has a cost, and of course, how do we pay for our needs and wants? Getting a job and working, and having income, then it comes down to prioritizing personal needs, where your income goes, bills that absolutely need to be paid etc. So having financial priorities helps one understand what takes priority over other things, on top of that, that also means understanding wants vs. needs. "I want XYZ because it will be great for riding, but need to pay my heating and AC bill first."Obviously, you Pay your heating/AC bill first and whatever's left over you can find out if one can buy xyz then or if you have to save for that special something you want to invest in down the road later. Believe me, when I say that I am in the middle of acquiring more tools for myself a little at a time. I highly recommend this product.

This tool is the only one of its kind I could find. Park Tool is known for great quality bicycle tools. They do have a lifetime warranty. My biggest complaint about this wrench is that the metal is so thin. It is like trying to apply a great amount of torque to the edge of a thin piece of metal which is a little thinner than a kitchen knife. If your situation is like mine where the nut on the chainring is very tight, you will have difficulty using this tool. I had to wrap some scrap leather around the wrench to be able to grip it well enough to loosen the nut. (I felt like I was going to cut my hand before the nut would loosen.) Also, when the nut finally did loosen, I noticed that the teeth on the spanner wrench were very slightly bent--nothing that would prevent me from using the tool again, just a very slight bend. This could be a problem if the tool is used regularly such as in a professional bike shop. However, the lifetime warranty could be used in this situation. I believe they may have made this tool so thin to be more favorable to those who want to carry this tool with them when they ride. A thin tool is more lightweight. This tool should fit all one-piece cranks with the exception of the children's bikes with the 12.5 inch wheels. (They have smaller one-piece cranks.)

My family owns eight bikes and that includes a beach cruiser for my wife with a one piece crank and a smaller mountain bike for my six year old that utilizes the older three piece crank style. In order to service the bottom bracket or the bottom bracket bearings on either bike, this is the tool that I needed. Once I received it, I got to work and had no problems. This HCW-18 model is made from case hardened tool steel (I believe it has a hardness of HRC 61) and unlike some more cheaply made tools, the notches on this wrench fit perfectly and do not bend under load. And that means that this tool is five stars in my book.
