Quality is typical pearl izumi, I really like the new cushion in it, it's just the right amount of coverage and firmness for me to really relieve the seat pressure. The shirts fit true to size and stay in place completely because of the grippers. A bonus on these shorts is the extensive amount of pockets, I love this even when wearing shorts over them these pockets are great. The material is soft and slightly breathable, but these out of all the styles are not as cool, so they work better for mild conditions not hot

I just got done riding with these shorts today. I think that the padding is stellar. It's nice and dense without being too thick. The shorts have good compression and are made of sweat wicking materials. The shorts are very thin and stretchy. There is a lot of free movement with the strategically placed panels. The length is perfect at 10.5". I like my shorts to be just slightly above the knee. I like having the extra compression. The leg grippers do a good job of keeping the shorts from riding up. The waist comes a bit high, but it provides a little tummy control. I do find myself having to adjust it once or twice during the ride, as the waist tends to slip below my belly. It isn't too much of a nuisance.Pearl Izumi has surpassed my expectations with the newest stuff they're putting out. It's better than past years, in my opinion. They're not drastically different, but I feel like they are passing down the perks seen in higher level shorts in the past years. The price can get a bit steep on some of them, but they are extremely well made shorts. Highly recommended.

My last two Pearl Izumi bike shorts were their cheapest model and each lasted 10 years with ~2500 miles on each pair. I bought this one and the quality appears to be the same. Very comfortable. My only beef is their interior padding is brightly colored so the sweat stains become clearly visible over the years. But the quality is fantastic.

These cycling shorts are fairly expensive but worth it in my opinion. I love my Peloton bike and challenge myself on 60 to 90 mins rides and classes. That takes it toll on my butt and I also experience chafing on my inner thighs with just regular shorts or compression wear.I really couldn't take anymore so decided to order these (plus the bib version by the same brand). I had never heard of Pearl Izumi but a quick Google search taught me that they are well known in the cycling world and they are stocked at many retail stores like REI.What intrigued me was the padding on the rear and the thickness. So far they have been great and made a huge difference to my workouts. They hold everything in place and the discomfort on long rides, has greatly improved. I also no longe experience any chafing. They are very tight and it takes a little effort to pull them on and adjust to my physique but they stay put, no riding down of the waistband or riding up on the legs. They also wash really well, though I will say they are not the easiest to store, They don't hang well and take quite a lot of space in a drawer.

Overall the shorts are really nice here is what I like and dislike:LikeThe chamois is really comfortable on long rides. I ride a Peloton inside and a mountain bike outside and have used these shorts twice on each for rides ranging from 30 min to 2 hours and found them to be very comfortable on the butt. They move pretty easy inside my baggy mountain bike shorts so if you are planning on wearing shorts over these are a good choice.DislikeThe waist is higher than most men's shorts (that aren't bibs) so when I'm leaned over on the bike it has a tendency to roll down and bunch across my stomach which is mildly uncomfortable. My other shorts don't really have this problem because the waist is just a touch lower. I don't have a dad gut but if I did I would think that this problem would be even worse.I think the sizing is on the small side. I have a 32" waist and found the mediums to be very tight. I've been wearing them for 20 years and I know that they are supposed to be snug but these are really tight. I think if you have skinny legs the sizing is appropriate but if you have tree trunks from sprinting or climbing then you may want to size up.For the price I would expect these to be perfect. I know that PI is a premium brand and charges a premium price but again they better be perfect then.

Pearl Izumi seems to have thought of everything with these shorts and they have been very comfortable for my spring rides:• Many panels for a very good fit; no wrinkles, creases, or loose spots• 2 side pockets; my iPhone fits easily in them and is held securely. I had no discomfort riding with things in both pockets. The pockets have a pleat at the bottom so they expand quite a bit.• Full coverage shammy. Very thick in back and thin up front• Wide waistband up front; no need for a drawstring to keep them up• Soft fabric on the waistband in back; I’ve never had that in bike shorts before but it’s comfy• Wide cuffs and Silicone on the legs. They didn’t ride up at all• Reinforced seams at stress points• Probably other things I haven’t noticed yet!Like my other Pearl Izumi gear, these are a very well-made product. I have a 32 waist and got the medium. The shorts are very stretchy and though they feel a little tight when first putting them on, they are very comfortable and have absolutely no wrinkles or areas that bind.
