It worked as it was intended, removing my old spark plugs and installing my new ones. I have a 2015 Jeep Compass and this socket is flush with the hole when fully inserted. This is good incase the extension let's go while removing the socket after installation, you can reach it easily with pliers if need be (or attach directly to the wrench without extension). If you're changing plugs on a car with coil packs, this definitely will help.

This socket has a rubber insert to grab the plug. Some people seem to mistake that grip with the socket being magnet. The rubber insert falls out after one spark plug is removed. It won't stay in place after that.I then bought a spark plug socket at a local auto parts supplier for one third the price. It has a rubber insert but it is made properly and works consistently.

Worked perfect for my car. The cylinders are deep, and I didnt want to risk having a socket come off the ratchet inside the head. Perfect for what it is.

Worked perfectly on 2009 Passat 2.0 TSI. I wasn't sure whether this is 'thin-walled' enough, and I can't say on what other cars this will work, but it works perfectly for the vehicle mentioned.

My MX5 roadster eats spark plugs. It was a characteristic I learned prior to purchase and it hasn't been a big issue.I tried my hand at changing my spark plugs one weekend with a spark socket I picked up at the local auto shop. Apparently it was too small and after loosening the spark plug and bring it up, both spark plug and socket remained in the engine. I freaked! I thought I just completely ruined my engine. My fingers couldn't get in there and neither could any of my tools. Finally I found a non tool item to pry it up. I've been gun shy ever since until I found this socket. Its extra long so even completely in the engine there is about an inch above the surface so getting stuck is never an issue again. With this socket, my anxiety inducing sparks job that took over an hour now only took 5 minutes, maybe less. Get the right tools for the job. This is one of them.

Excellent tool. Much better than the rubber lined spark plug socket.
