The tines are too widely spaced for a flea comb intended for use on cats. This is a tangle remover.

I had misplaced the cat’s flea comb so I ordered this. The teeth are too far apart to really do any good. About the same distance apart as the larger teeth on a big comb for humans that has the thicker and thinner teeth. Of course I found the good flea comb after I ordered this.

I gave this one star because I purchased this to use as a flea comb. It's well made, sturdy and easy to hold, but the teeth are too far apart to collect any fleas. It's fine for combing our pets' fur, but that's all.

It's an okay comb for the price, but if you have a double coated or long haired/ fluffy pet, you will need a dual tooth comb with fine and wide teeth combo. as well
