I highly recomend. Great combo for your boat or shore fishing. Smooth drag, light weight, and well balanced . The sensitivity is superb.

Purchased one of the combos to take on a vacation. When it arrived, the top half was missing. I was promptly shipped a replacement, which was also missing the top half. It seemed like a very nice combo, so I tried to work through Amazon and Pflueger to see if I could get a replacement for the top portions, telling them I was willing to pay for both combos. Amazon was only willing to refund and I never heard back from Pflueger. I guess they did me a favor as the easy breakage seems to be a common complaint from purchasers.

It's a nice inexpensive combo to use for small fish and crappie in areas were a long rod would be difficult to cast.

I have enjoyed fishing my entire live usually used something cheep but got this as a gift and it is the most sensitive tip with a nice back in for a strong hook set. Already cought a nice 25"walleye, lots of small mouth,gills, brook trout and several 12 + lb cat fish cast great with 8 lb mono as well my boyfriend has the same rode as a finwick and likes this one better just fyi

The eyes were all bent over. Handle was loose in the bag. Hope the eyes last. I would return it if it wasn't such a pain. Update. Seller could care less that it arrived damaged. I would order elsewhere if I was you

Got the lightweight. Casts very smoothly ! Haven’t yet tried it out against a catch but so far has held up extremely well. Good for the price and is a beauty! Package was not taped well and was nearly open upon arrival. Besides that the rod and reel are incredible.

I bought this combo for spin fishing for trout. Out of the box I was impressed by the rod itself, I really liked the palm swell in the cork handle and the secure reel seat. I spooled up the reel with 4lb and set off for the trout stream. I was excited to try this rod, the light weight and maneuverability appealed to me. Casting a 1/16oz spinner into a known hole hooked me up with a feisty brown trout, which promptly snapped the rod in half, a few inches above the ferrule. I pulled the fish in by hand and it turned out to be 10", which should not have been enough to cause enough stress on this rod to break it. I believe that there is a flaw in the blanks that were used to construct these rods. I know my way around and ultralight set up very well, and I have never experienced this kind of catastrophic failure in construction.The reel is ok, it's not great, but it's okay, it 's kind of a workhorse and it will get the job done, I swapped it onto a well known ultralight rod, and it is going strong, however, I wish I didn't have to do that. This rod was just the length that I wanted and I really liked the weight and balance, but the fact that it couldn't handle even one wild fish, leads me to say that I would not recommend this combo to others who are looking for an ultralight set up.

Reel is smooth, light and seems well made. Has held up to occasional saltwater splashes. Unfortunately rod snapped...10 days past Amazon's return window. I would recommend the reel...but unless the combo is on extraordinary sale, recommend skipping the rod.Update: Changed from 1 star to 5 stars. I emailed Pflueger with pictures and my Amazon receipt. Pflueger warrantied the rod and is sending me a replacement. I only had to pay for the shipping. Lisa at the Pflueger warranty department was extremely efficient and the claim process was extremely low hassle. Pflueger will continue to be my brand of choice for fishing gear for it value, quality, performance, and now great customer service.

Great rod and reel... my boy loves it. I had some trouble with the rod’s being broke during delivery, but had no issues returning and ordering another.
