This brass hardware is designed to prop open the lid of your piano bench--keeping it open while you access the music compartment. It is designed with a notch so that the lid can be supported while getting music out without putting pressure on the hinges of the bench. The smaller flat piece with the two screw holes attaches to the lid of the piano bench, with the longer piece going on the inside of the music compartment. The screw inside the music compartment fits into the notch when the lid is open, propping open the lid.

My piano bench has been broken for years. We finally got new hinges and this stop, and the lid doesn't slide around anymore.

It worked perfect on our piano bench. Because my grandson spent the other one and I couldn’t unbend it.

It's brass and a Lid Support Hinge, but it didn't come with any screws or instructions. I don't need the instructions, but the screws would have been nice... From other comments, seems like I'm not the only one.

We had a piano stool that came with a new house we had bought. The piano stool hinge had been all bet, so we ordered a new one, quick and easy replacement.

It's a nice piece of metal but what is lacking are screws and instructions. Did any one else get these?

Works just like it should. Do note, it does not come with any screws or bottom fastener, the part that holds it to the bench that allows it to prop the seat up.
