The clip on mine was broke so I actually just swapped the plastic clip rather than replace the whole wire. I de-pinned both of them and this replacement clip swapped right over to the factory wire and fit perfectly. These are nearly impossible to find at an auto parts store for some reason so I'm very happy with this item.

This is the correct pigtail for the alternator stator on a 1999 Ford Mustang V6, but the wire is not 16 gauge as indicated in the description. If you're using a butt splice connector you will need an 18-22 gauge connector. Your OE wire is the same gauge.

It's the right connector, for my 1995 Mustang Alternator. You will need wire cutters, wire strippers, and connector crimping pliers, and you'll need to use a weather proof crimp connector in order to install this. Buy the assortment pack of heat shrink equipped butt connectors from harbor freight, and use the Blue connector (For 14-16g wire sizes). Twist the exposed wire ends after stripping about 1/2" from each wire, twist one side at a time into the connector and crimp it down with the INSUL side of your crimp pliers, until you cannot squeeze any further. Do the other end of the connector with the second exposed wire, then heat the connector until you see the Rosin seep out from the edges of the connector, signifying that you have a full shrinked seal, and that the rosin material has spread throughout the inside of the connection. Then you're good.Just figured I'd explain that, as simply as possible, for anyone who needed it.

You are looking at this because you broke the original trying to remove it. Not your fault. They get old and brittle. This is a nicely made replacement and for less than 9 bucks, it's not a bad deal considering the business's expenses, shipping, etc. You may not have to cut the wire on your old one. Take a knife or a tiny thin screwdriver and pry the side tab out of the old one. It may break, but so what, it already is. Then you can carefully do the same with this one and snap it onto the old wire (after cleaning the old wire connector). This way, no splicing or soldering required. Good luck.
