I love how it slides in and out and even with someone sitting heavy on it it still slides really well.

I am 71 years old and have been caring for my special needs loved one for 43 1/2 years. Gradual decline in her ability to transfer to shower has presented me with new challenges. Found this item that seems to address my problem. She can still be guided from wall guard rail, to stand with swivel u bars and then guided to shower sheat...2 shower chair legs inside shower and 2 outside. then push the front pin in and i lift her legs over the shower threshhold and into the shower gliding she goes.....i use hand held showerhead and its perfect...dont even need to lift her due to the cut out. Padded seat drains well and she is not scared and loves being back in shower! Fantastic find. Family member weighs 80 pounds..but that is heavy for us older people.Chair is Very light weight and easy to handle. I had to think it out at first and kept looking at picture and figured out where pieces go. Would be a good idea if plastic over the chair pieces had numbers or letters ...of where to attach...but maybe thats just me. Grandmama figured it out!PSCHAIR IS FABULOUS HELP. I SOON ORDERED EXTENSION BARS FOR GLIDING SEAT TO BE OUTSIDE / INSIDE CONVENIENCE MOVEMENT SHOWER HELP! SPLATTER HELP!Also— I WISHED I HAD ORDERED THE SWIVELED SEAT MODEL—SO LESS MANEUVERING NEEDED!ALSO- EVEN WITH CHAIR LEGS ADJUSTED AS LOW AS POSSIBLE-5’ heighth Feet don’t reach flat. I’m about to get a bamboo shower mat that should help accomplish the stabilizing. They hold to shower bar or chair handles for security feelings and are content. Her bottom gets marked if I take the CENTER piece seat out- (not cut, just like sitting on potty too long) and since they don’t complain, it looks like I could help that.I think I’ll try it out and see if it is uncomfortable or just a shower moment - it goes away and is padded so doesn’t cut.Just an observation to be aware of.No rust on chair-or smell!! I spray it withMicroban spray AFTER rinse soap off. Tilt legs and angle on end up and it’s dries.FABULOUS CHAIR- very light weight.

Easy to assembled. Directions no problem to follow. Easily understood. Took me about 20 minutes. Need some room to assemble, used the floor and the bed (couch). Only because after a couple steps the chair becomes long and the bed (couch) is softer then the floor to sit on. Read the directions ahead of assembly. Note that parts have alphabetical letters to help connect the parts together. Lay out the parts in easy reach and assemble order. .Great being able to purchase extensions (if needed rather expensive) from seller. Horizontal (make a longer slide) and vertical extensions (longer legs). Appreciated the tushy insert that can be removed to use with toilet. Has a web seat belt clicking fastener for safety. Interesting lock and release to move seat from side to side. The transfer chair can be broken down (no longer needed) and stored in a Xmas zipper gift wrap paper canvas zipper bag. Course that is in a dissemble state. May need to shake in to position to zip up. Easily peasy convenient clean storage in garage.

I have been using Hydroglide Shower Bench for about 3 months, using it with the assistance of a caregiver approximately every other day. Overall I am pleased with it and I recommend it (with exceptions as described below).Pros:1. Though very light weight it is solidly built. The tubular frame is of a larger diameter than others and the connections are solid.2. I particularly appreciate that the legs adjust at 1/2” increments (instead of 1”) making for a solid base in a sloping tub bottom.3. I like the blue color and the solid feel of the seat, back, and end grip.4. The cushioned end grip and the hand grips on either side of the seat lets me always have a place to hold on and therefore more security. (I do not use the seat belt, at this time.)5. The push knobs to release the latch pins at both end positions are an easier reach.6. As the bench is light weight, the handhold at the top of the seat back makes it easier to lift in and out of the tub when necessary.Cons:1. The cutout: when the cutout is in place to make the bench a solid surface, the notches are not deep enough to prevent it from being pushed through when I sit on it, though I weigh only about 155 lbs. Similar, I’m sure, to many shower bench users, I been in a wheelchair for many years and am very narrow in the buttocks. Almost every time I use it, about halfway through the shower, first one, then the second and third notch gives way and my caregiver reaches under to pull the cutout all the way out. I have learned to count on it, but it is disconcerting. At times it becomes unsafe as the drop of one side forces me to become a little off balance. In addition, the edges of the cut-out are a bit sharp and could use to have a bigger radius. I put a heavy wash cloth over the area to protect my skin.2. I agree with another person that the seat depth should be increased by 1 or 2 inchs.
