I think the way these are marked it's hard to really tell where the colors should go. So without alot of supervision my granddaughter would have trouble doing these. They are very cute

I love to cross stich, and I do it a lot. As such, my daughter started asking to sew with me when she was 3 or 4. While I did find some small printed designs, I was even more excited to find these. They're made with printer plastic canvas instead of printed cloth.The plastic needs are great, and I'm glad they sent many, since I can seem them breaking with use. But they certainly won't injure anyone.This is also not true cross stitch in that all photos seem to suggest you should only do half the stitch. But it's still a great beginning practice for her, and if she takes to it, we could pick one where we use less yarn and do the full stitches.We started with the rainbow, and my main complaint is that it's meant to have two rows of differing pinks, but on the canvas you can't tell where one begins and one ends.It can also be hard to be sure you're choosing the right color yarns, since they're not labeled either. But we did our best. And ultimately, that part won't bother her right now. Just being able to sew with me is exciting.If you have a kid looking to get into cross stitch, this is definitely a worth option. I can do counted, and have done very HARD counted, but I do love the era of printed designs, because it offers the stress relief without adding any stress back to the mix (if you've done counted cross stitch, you know what I mean).

These kits are the absolute best. I have been trying to re-learn some of the different craft abilities that I learned in my youth, that I cannot remember how to do now. I love that everything is provided in the kit for me. I like to collect these kits and do them especially in the wintertime when there isn't a whole of other things that you can do without freezing your tail off. These are super affordable, and I love that it comes with instructions and videos to help you along. I recommend.

I started cross stitch years ago as a new bride and just fell in love with it, making all kinds of things from Christmas ornaments, to large home decor pieces. It is not hard to do and this set comes with all that you need for your project, including an instruction booklet. I always knew this art as ‘counted cross stitch’ and I am pleased to see that the booklet has a counted map for each animal as well as having a color code. Also, each plastic piece is about 4 1/4 inches square and it is also colored.The directions show the stitch and give hints for success, but it would have been nice if they had a QR code to watch a video of someone actually stitching, changing colors and how to tie off a thread on the back without a knot. Still, the directions are pretty easy on this kit.Nice colors of yarn, included plastic needles and if you have a kiddo that likes to craft, I think this would be a fun kit. I have a 10 year old little friend that will love this!
