It was very simple to assemble and hang. Just take your time to fit the hoops into the clips on the shade. I just put the hook in the ceiling and hung the light from the cord. It is a heavy enough cord to hold it and the shade and fixture are lightweight. I just looped the extra cord around the rack to hold the light in place. I want to be easily able to raise and lower depending on what plants I have on the top shelf. The switch is in a good place as well its about 3 feet away from the plug. The shade is beige linen that I decided to decorate with acrylic paints. The shade took the paint well without any flaking off or running. I really love the look of this light and it works very well with my plants. It can be raised or lowered easily.

Easy to put together. Hardest part is putting the hook in the ceiling to hang it, but that's not hard if you have a really tall son like me.

It was exactly what I needed for my bathroom. The light connected above the sink cabinet fizzled out, but I have an outlet next to the door. So I bought this, hung it up with an S hook and viola! The cord length is rather long which makes the light switch touch the floor, so you either have to wind the cord up to desired length or, again, S hook or angle a nail to hang the cord up along the wall either way will suffice. It's a great value to the money and functions like a regular lamp, it just hangs. It's very easy to assemble, uses a regular light bulb and the plastic material that the shade is made of will hang down just enough like a shade should to cover the brightness of the bulb, so no glares.
