Battery life isn't long. I feel like goldilocks saying this next part... Tends to get too hot on its high setting, not hot enough on its low setting. The middle setting isnt great, but it Works well on wire to wire soldering. Hence why I gave 3 stars rather than 1.. Ruined a few small projects due to damage to circuit board from being too hot just to get solder to come off.

I've already done some tinkering soldering on 16 gauge wiring twice now. I used the medium setting and it did well. Warm up time is pretty short too.

I used to solder a bit more often but have been doing it less and less. I did not want to have to pull out the wired soldering iron for quick things I needed to do and saw this and wanted to give it a try.It is very convenient to not have to move close to an outlet to do the work, I can do it in a place which makes it much nicer. It charges up quickly and with the 3 heat modes it works well for different types of work. It heats up quick to get the job done, does get a bit hot near the bottom of the handle so you do want to hold it a bit higher. With the length compared to a plug in one you are still holding closer than you would with wired. It does have a resting try with small sponge in the case so you can prop it there between uses or to allow it to cool down. As with any soldering iron make sure it is cooled before putting it away. It will still burn your fingers; I don’t know that I have ever been able to get through something without burning myself at least once.It does only come with 1 tip so you may want to order some extra’s to have on hand, if it gets dropped or the tip gets damaged some other way you will need another.
