This soldering iron is not temperature controlled as correctly stated in the description. Purchased the iron to solder came in my project and it melted the lead came prepping the lead first with flux. Extremely disappointed in this iron for stain glass. Beware of the high heat.

Not the greatest iron I've ever had. Heating part is way too long for good control, and after using for a while, tip falls out. Low quality.

I like the iron. It takes a little longer to heat up and it gets really hot. I actually like it better than my Hakko and a lot more affordable. The only problem is the tip has fallen out on me twice. Keep an Allen wrench close by to tighten it as you use it.

This iron worked great for my project. I had tried two different irons from different company’s. One shorted out. And the other just wouldn’t get hot enough. So ,this is the third iron Ive tried. And it worked Great!I used it to repair some wire sculptures of Angels ,of my wife’s. Which required a lot of heat to solder some of the heavier gauge wire the sculpters are made of.This iron is sturdy and seems well made. It worked great. And heated up the thicker wires just fine. Which allowed me to resolder all the broken pieces of the scluptures.The only negatives are. There is no heat control. And it does not come with a stand to place it on while using. So, I made my own.However, for the low cost. It’s a great basic iron. And gets very hot. As advertised.Make sure the tip gets tinned before use.I would recommend this soldering iron.
