I'm sorry, but I couldn't detect any filtering action going on. The noise was just as bad as no filtering in the auto, when connected to an amplified speaker for the amateur radio. Maybe I'm not drawing enough of a load?

Had alternator noise on my UHF radios used on my police motorcycle. This low pass filter applied between the battery (+) and radio positive terminals, has mostly eliminated the noise which is further amplified by the 2-way radio. Highly recommended.
