Micnova MQ-THA Aluminium Alloy Pro Tripod Shoe Camera Mount Adapter

Overview

The MQ-THA is upgraded from the double coldshoe adapter, which mounts on a camera or camcorders accessory shoe and triples the mounting points for video lights, flashes, monitors or microphones, or other accessories.

The Micnova MQ-THA camera bracket is constructed from rigid, yet lightweight aluminum alloy, and the mounting shoes are machined out of the same piece as the bracket, for additional strength.

The accessory shoes also feature backstops for greater security when attaching accessories. The bottom shoe that attaches to the camera features a locking pin, which keeps the shoe in place and prevents the shoe from rotating during use. In addition to the shoe mount, a 1/4"-20 thread is also available for attaching the bracket to a tripod, rig, or other bracket featuring a 1/4"-20-threaded mount.

Backstop for secure mounting.

Mounts the accessories to make your excellent shooting.

Item with Monitor, Microphone LED Lights

  • The standard cold shoe of camera can only be mounted by one external light, LED light or microphone, which can not achieve the use of the microphone recording and LED lights.
  • MQ-THA is a tripartite coldshoe adapter designed for Canon, Nikon, Olympus DSLR etc. while Sony need the transverter MQ-SA to convert.

Works just as it should. A perfect design for multiple accessories. Now if you make the app stop saying it's gonna "arrive" late that'd be nice, cause it's already here. I got this thing 2 days earlier than it said I would.

Nice addition to those that want to add an external light, microphone and video output screen to the top of their camera for conference calls and simple vlogging. Very sturdy construction and quality product. The only change I would suggest to the manufacturer is to make the main body of the mount thinner to make it easier to turn the lock down nut for the camera body shoe.

On the surface, this seems like a GREAT idea, but in practical use it falls short of expectations. My intent was to use this to mount my wireless lav mic receiver and an external monitor to my Sony Digital cinematography camera. The problem starts with the lock down screw for the camera shoe mount. The clearance is so narrow it is almost impossible to get your fingers under the body to lock it down. And if you do manage to get it tight enough to hold your additional accessories, getting it off presents the same problem. There is ZERO clearance to get your fingers under the body. Thus you need a pair of ultra thin 1" channel locks in your bag to secure and insecure the nut. And unless you dip the jaws in rubber you damage the nut. The designer should have made the nut WIDER than the body, or designed the nut like a wing nut with protruding nubs, to allow for proper tightening and loosening of the nut. Maybe it works better on DSLR cameras, but for Cinematography cameras, well... It just falls short...

No problems. Is it going to fit your boot? YES, no problems. It’s easy and a very well made product. Not super cheaply made with light plastic, it feels great and is heavy enough to feel sturdy and strong without weighing your camera down awkwardly and causing harm. Can be used with out stabilizers etc with boot mounts as it fit all of mine perfectly. Is worth it all the way.

build quality is perfect, the all-metal design just feels all pro in your hand but if you need these things to hard lock where you set them, look elsewhere. No matter how hard you tighten these things, they will spin, not just the 3 cold shoe mounts but the mount on the bottom as well, that's probably the worst one. I admittedly put something heavy on it, but there's no reason these cannot have a more efficient lock mechanism built-in, whether it's a rosette or a little safety rod with a hole in the base there's plenty of options that could've made these hard lock. The worst offender, in my opinion, is the base mount, why is that attached with a hex screw that can spin? that piece should've been one-piece, hard attached to the unit. I get there are tension limits to everything, but this thing is meant to hold 3 devices and it's all metal, you'd expect it to hard lock where you set it. I still keep it in my kit and use it with 3 light items, but if I need it to hard lock for something serious I have other means, for that it gets 3 stars.

I really am pleased with the product, the material used is super durable! It attaches well to my camera and stays in place. I am using it with my Nikon D5100. I love this product and definitely recommend it especially for the price.

Pretty heavy and sturdy. Will add to the weights of other stuff ya will fix on. So be careful or the tower ya gonna build (aka, the tripod with whatever ya gonna put on it) will come tumbling down!
