We're very satisfied with this weed burner. We use it to get rid of weeds that pop up in our decomposed granite (DG) landscaping. We'd previously bought a lower BTU one that uses the small propane tanks that screw directly into the wand and it was really unsatisfactory. You could eat a sandwich while it burned a weed. This one has a higher BTU rating and it's quicker, and it meets our needs, but that's probably because we catch the weeds early. If your weeds are more robust you may want more power. In terms of quality it's top notch, you will NOT be disappointed. And the little arc lighter that they include is so, so cool. Just FYI, we use a five-gallon propane tank or fuel. We strap it to a dolly that we can roll around.

Absolutely legit propane torch! It generates a nice, hot flame, perfect for everything from burning weeds and melting ice to burning wood. The way it is laid out in the case keeps everything organized and easy to find, and the handle is nice and grippy. This is well worth the $59.80 (at the time of this review) and I wouldn't hesitate to order this exact torch again if I ever need another.

If you’re looking for a propane weed torch this is a great option. It comes in a nice padded case, is easily assembled and disassembled, and being made out of aluminum alloy it should be highly resistant to rust. As far as output, i can say that it is certainly adequate and does what it’s intended to. There is a hand knob on the device that allows you to dial up or down the intensity of the flame. And if you’ve never used one of these before, be prepared. It sounds like a jet engine when you have it on full burn. I would actually recommend using ear protection if you’re using for any length of time. This is the second weed torch that I own. The first one was an inexpensive torch inferior in almost every way, but it had a few features that this one is lacking. They are certainly not a deal breaker, but are something to keep in mind. Instead of having an electric ignition button like on a gas grill, this comes with an arc lighter. Now dont get me wrong, the arc lighter is very cool. It’s a completely battery based lighter that provides the same spark as an igniter - better actually - but it’s separate and you have to keep it in your pocket. Every time you turn off the flame you have to relight it. Secondly, in addition to an ignition button, my other torch has a very basic pilot light, so when moving from area to area you don’t have to relight your flame. Those two features by themselves add a significant amount of functionality to a torch, and thus take it away from this one. However, my old torch was painted metal of some time and after years of being in my shed has several rusted areas. This beautiful aluminum alloy torch wont have that problem. Especially if you break it down after use and put it back in the case. This one also comes with an extra long hose - i believe nine feet, but dont quote me on that - which means instead of having to drag a 25lb propane tank with you, you can set it down and cover a fairly large spread before having to move. All in all it’s a really nice torch, and having the arc lighter included does go a way towards mitigating the lack of an igniter. That being said, i paid half as much for the one that is partially rusted and still sitting in my shed.Knowing now that my older one has a limited lifespan, if i had to choose I would probably pick this new one, but it would be a much more compelling purchase if it had an igniter and pilot light included.

I saw this and thought, "Gotta have it!"I was using an old propane torch head that fit on the small cans. It was rather ineffective and a slow and long process, this flame thrower will be much more effective and weed control. If you plan on getting this for weed control may I make one piece of advice, clean up the dry leaves in the immediate area and have the water hose handy. Ok that was two, consider it a bonus,The case is nice for storage and transport and the lighter is a nice touch as well. And being 3/4's redneck, I will use this to light my bonfires and my smoker.

I got this torch to replace my old one that just ran on the small propane cans. The fact that this one has a soft hose, so I can just hook it up and set my 40lb propane tank in a central location and work without having to hold the extra weight of a tank. I got this mainly to use around the perimeter of my yard to keep the weeds and grass under control, but plan on using it for starting our outdoor fireplace. It is built well and is nice quality torch kit that is easy to store away in its case. It is a super nice bonus to have the spark lighter included for fast lighting. Looking forward to using it more this spring.
