I have a similar pair that I love and I selected this pair because of the replaceable tips and the quick adjust nut for changing the width. The design is supposed to engage the thread when spring tension is applied to hold your desired position and disengage the thread when spring tension is removed, so you can quickly and easily move it to a new position without many spins of the nut.The adjustment nut on this set does not disengage the way it should and is Very tight, it takes a minute to adjust it, oil did not help. Somewhat annoying.

The only problem I found with this divider is that it does not close to very small distances having a minimum opening of something in the area of 1.5 to perhaps 2mm. As a jeweler I sometimes need t mark parallel marks smaller than this divider will go. Hence I have ordered a different one. My recommendation would be to angle the two removable pins so that they would mark closer, however this would also reduce the maximum opening.
