This very lightweight and powerful 12 volts machine is ideal for curved cuts in wood up to 3/8" (10mm), circuit boards up to 7/64" (3mm) and non-ferrous metals up to 3/32" (2.5mm) thickness. Its weight makes it easy to handle and thus allows for precise control of the cutting action. The specially balanced powerful permanent magnet motor with electronic speed control ensures variable speeds between 2,000 - 5,000 strokes/ min., stroke: 15/64" (6mm). With additional, rounded foot for cuts on rounded surfaces and clean interior cuts. Is exchanged for the normal saw table by unscrewing a screw. Ideal for gourd carving. Includes 2 saw blades (coarse and fine). Technical data: Direct voltage: 12 - 18V, Max. Power: 1/8hp (100W), Speed: 2,000 - 5,000 strokes/min, Length: 7.1" (180mm), Weight: 1 lb (480g). Note: The speed control of our 12-volt devices only works when operated via non-stabilized power supply units (e.g. all MICROMOT mains adapters). Connection to stabilized power supply units is possible. However, the devices will then operate with maximum rotational speeds (also applies to operation with batteries).

This tool is compact and easy to use. You will need to get the PROXXON transformer NG 2/S if you don't already have one to operate the tool. I use this tool for cutting gourds and it works perfect. I am 62 and have a weak grip but I can use this with no problems it is light and has the power to cut quickly and with ease.

This saw replaced one that died. A new one from Amazon was only about $10 more than having the factory repair my old one. If you are looking for a craft jig saw look somewhere else. The on/off switch is in a place that you can not reach. It takes three hands to operate the saw. one to hold the saw, one to hold your work, and one to operate the switch. Very poor design.

It's a great product but without the transformer, it's not usable, It doesn't plug into your home AC receptacles. Other than that it's a great buy.

We are extremely disappointed with this product. We bought it for the first time just over 2 years ago and used it about 6 times. Left it in Arizona and couldn't come back because of the border closure. Came back this year and it would not work. Contacted Proxxon and there was nothing they would do. Ordered another one a month ago and when we received it, we could not budge the set screw to release the blade. Contacted Proxxon and the fellow there said sometimes the screw is a bit tight. I am pretty strong but could not budge it. Sent it back and requested a replacement. Just received the third one and exactly the same problem. Is there anyone alive in Quality Control?

This is my second proxy jig saw. I am a gourd artist and my first one decided to retire in Jan 2021. #1 carved over 1000 gourds for me in a 10 year period. I am certain my second will preform just as beautifully. Tip: don’t force a cut, give the blade time to do the cutting. You will save changing blades.

Very satisfied with my purchase and plan on using it often. The only thing that disappoints me is that you have to buy a Transformer separate and that's a bummer. It should be like other power tools and come with it's power supply.

Great little tool, got it as a birthday present and used it to cut ribs out for an extra boat I’m building came in really useful when I laid the laminate flooring and hat to cut the shape of the door frame

Fantastic mini jigsaw. Note that it works with an external 12v transformer (sold separately). I bought it so that my kids can easily use it on craft projects. I like using it on small Woodworking projects. I have a high end corded Bosch jigsaw and a 12v battery powered Bosch jigsaw. These I use on the big stuff where I need to make cuts in thick wood pieces. This one works great on small/thin stuff where it's safer to use than bringing in the big guys.

Ein Proxxon-Gerät zu dem Preis darf schon als Schnäppchen gelten.Das mag primär an der 12Volt-Ausführung liegen. Wer kein passendes Netzgerät hat, der sollte aus wirtschaftlichen Erwägungen wohl besser die 220Volt-Variante nehmen. Die könnte theoretisch auch vielseitiger und langlebiger sein. Die 12Volt-Geräte mit elektronischer Drehzahlregelung (hier der Fall) sollen nur an "nicht-synchronisierten" Netzgeräten betrieben werden. Tut man es doch, dann läuft das Gerät ständig auf Höchstdrehzahl und es ist nichts mehr zu regeln. Auch sollte das Netzgerät mindestens 2A Leistung bringen.Die 220-Volt Stichsäge hat einen Gerätekopf aus Aluminium (dient angeblich der Langlebigkeit) und hat einen wesentlich besseren Fuß aus Aluminium (mit der Möglichkeit des Schrägstellens und der Aufnahme für einen Anschlag). Bei dem Produkt hier ist der Fuß aus glasfaserverstärktem Kunststoff und nur starr mit der Säge zu verschrauben. Gehrungsschnitte sind nicht möglich. Auch fehlt die Möglichkeit einen Anschlag zu montieren.Sowohl 12Volt- als auch 220Volt-Gerät haben ein 100 Watt Motörchen eingebaut. Beide sind damit nur für feine Modellbauzwecke gedacht.Nach Abwägung dieser "Nachteile" habe ich mich dennoch für dieses, kostengünstige 12Volt-Gerät entschieden - zumal in ein Netzgerät besitze :-). Ich habe auch noch kein Kunststoffteil bei Proxxon kaputt bekommen.Der vorhandene Sägetisch aus Kunststoff ist ausreichend groß (4,4 x 6,0 cm) und spielfrei mit dem Gerät zu verschrauben (Kreuzschlitz). Die Sägeblätter werden mittels Inbusschraube festgeklemmt.Auf Gehrungsschnitte werde ich verzichten können, zumal ich wegen der winzigen Sägeblätter und deren Flexibilität bei längeren Schnitten kein ordentliches Ergebnis erwarte. Ich befürchte, dass Gehrungsschnitte auch bei geführtem Sägetisch als "Wellengang" enden.Zum Lieferumfang gehört eine halbkugelförmige Alternative für den Sägetisch. Diese Ausführung ist auf der Abbildung zu sehen. Damit sollen sehr enge Kurvenschnitte und schräge Schnitte möglich werden. Ich denke, dass enge Kurvenradien auch mit einem normalen Sägetisch gut zu machen sind und dabei das Sägeblatt auch winklig zum Werkstück steht. Rechtwinklige Schnitte sind mit der Kugel nicht drin - aber: Bei der Kugel sehe ich sehr genau, wo das Sägeblatt arbeitet. Ich bin nicht gezwungen, in den Schlitz des Tisches hineinzuschauen und das Sägemehl wegpusten zu müssen. Einen besseren Blick auf den Schnitt habe ich noch nicht erlebt. Auf der Rückseite der Blisterverpackung beschreibt Proxxon die Möglichkeit, mit dem halbkugelförmigen "Tisch" einen Kürbis zu schnitzen. Viel Spaß bei der Sauerei. Es sind zwar nur 12 Volt, ich würde aber dennoch nicht in nasses und spritzendes Material sägen.Stichwort Verpackung: Es ist leider nur eine Blisterverpackung und kein Karton/keine Kunststoffkiste.Insgesamt eine klare Kaufempfehlung.

Had been looking at this little jigsaw for a long while before deciding to purchase it. It is the greatest little tool for gourd cutting. Read several reviews on it, and that is what really SOLD me. Don't think it would be practical for heavier woods, or bigger jobs, but perfect for gourds.Love all products I've ordered from Amazon, and really appreciate the free shipping if the item cost $25.00 or more. Shipping to Hawaii can get real expensive and many things take forever to arrive in the mail here. All of the items I've ordered from Amazon have been fast and efficient.
