The sliding/locking mechanism broke after opening 3 bottles during a restraunt shift. Still like their classic model.

The pop out knife seems cool, and it's fun to show people. But when you put any kind of pressure on the blade it pops back in. It's embarrassed me twice in front of tables, so I packed it up. Also the finish is way slippery when dealing with damp hands, sweat, chilled bottles or glasses. Not ideal in the slightest. I was told by a friend these are the best wine tools for service industry. The blade came very full, as well. If I were to try another PullTap tool, it would be one with a standard hinged blade. Also not serrated.

It does a decent job of opening wine bottles, but it isn't as sturdy as another brand of wine key bottle opener I own. The other minor issue is the coating on the corkscrew requires a bit more effort to twist a cork off of the screw.

I grabbed one of these in red as a stocking stuffer for my partner this past Christmas. He'd been considering one for a long time, and had mentioned that most of the ones on Amazon were fakes. This one appears to be authentic, has a nice heft to it, and is extremely user friendly. We've been very happy with it!

I had to get a pulltaps after reading about them on most major wine blogs. I really like the 900 because it has a foil cutter that you push up instead of pulling out. the white color also looks great. I did have to make excahnges due to the ones i received have small imperfections (im really picky). but the double lever works great. the foil cutter is difficult, but none of the ones that are built in ever work well. The gold in the picture is the 900 and the white in the picture is the 500. I ended up ordering a white 900, and i love it.

I have many corkscrews including a professional one I got working in a French restaurant as a student. I have a Chinese corkscrew that looks almost like a copy of this. I have even tried rabbit type corkscrews. Since I drink a lot of Spanish wine and Spaniards love their wine, I was enticed to try this even though it was more expensive than many. I also was hesitant to buy it because of the hinged lever which on cheaper cork screws don't usually work well. I was pleasantly surprised. First, the retractable capsule foil cutter is sharper and works better than others. Secondly, the hinged lever works well and together with the Teflon coated screw actually work better and in a smaller, sturdier and better looking format than many others.I don't yet know about longevity but I have already used the corkscrew many times and can honestly say it is worth the money. I hadn't heard of Pulltaps before but I would now consider it as giftworthy as well.
