Works well on pvc pipe, not so easy to keep pressure on pipe by hand when is turning. Good for finishing edges.

I'm not a plumber but I do like to do my own household repairs. So I was quite interested to receive this PVC cutting tool. I really like that I can cut pipes in situ with it. It works from either the outside or the inside of the pipe (inside, if the pipe is over 1.25 inches in inside diameter). It fits easily into a drill and the diamond cutting disk does the work for you. The tool is really well made, and it has measurements at 1/2 inch intervals for 3+ inches. This will only (of course) cut an inside edge of a pipe up to a 3 inch depth from the end, given that that is the length of the barrel. However, that's enough to trim a pipe that is too long or for which you need to put a collar on to attach another pipe.It takes some practice to get the inside cut to come out perfectly even - you may want to practice on some spare piping, like I did.

my specific need was to cut out the drain of a 2" diameter ABS from a stand up shower enclosure without making a whole lot of mess. This cutter fit down into the pipe past the thicker mounting flange and made a good cut in good order, no problem. I imagine this tool is designed for rough work, not cutting new pipe to size for precise fitment. Despite the product images showing external or for cutting to precise length, I do not think it can be controlled well enough to give straight & square cuts to such precision. So again, I think this tool is best for demolition type of scenario much like I used it for. My pipe was 2"' diameter so I cannot comment to what others have expressed about it not fitting into 1.5" diameter ABS pipe. Not a tool you will reach for every day as a home owner/amateur renovator, but it will make quick work of the job it is well suited to do. It sure beat being forced to attack the job through the finished ceiling below or to using a reciprocating saw (Sawzall).

I needed something to cut off excess length of 1/4-20 4" screws at my vacation condo where I have only rudimenatary tools. Another reviewer suggested this diamond wheel was rugged enough to cut through iron or steel. I can confirm that. With this chucked in my small variable speed power drill, I was able to brace my hands, use a cloth bag around one hand to steady the shank holding the cutting wheel, and cut off the excess length of the screws down to the level of the nuts with reasonable precision. As for cutting through a PVC pipe from the inside, the shaft/shank is 3 1/2 inches long and it would be hard to hand-hold the axis of the shaft perfectly parallel (co-linear) to a pipe. Hence the cutting would be expected to be a bit tilted or uneven. Still, stince PVC solvent joining/fitting is relatively forgiving, it should be olk.

I ordered this PVC Inside Pipe Cutter with Diamond Grit Cutting Wheel so I would have a stronger and more durable cutting wheel option than simply a Dremel type cutting wheel. Now with a Diamond Grit Cutting Wheel this should prove much more durable than the Dremel cut-off wheels. And when there's not enough space to properly use a hacksaw or Sawzall (reciprocating saw) and cutting from the inside or outside of the pipe is the only way to go - its definitely nicer to have an diamond grit cutting wheel. Suitable for drills that fit 1/4 " inch hex shank, with laser etched depth markings - what's not to like.

I had a PVC pipe in a location that was just about impossible to get a saw or cutter into, so I gave this a try.I liked the depth measurements scribed on it, which is a nice feature, and, once I got used to cutting from inside the pipe, worked fairly well. It’s a nice little tool. *RECOMMENDED*

Honestly, the price makes me question its quality, since quality materials usually don't come cheap. But as a cutting wheel, it does what it's supposed to do, with a nice clean cut. The feature I particularly like is the measurement marks. Seriously, I wish more drill bits included things like depth measurements, and then I could finally retire the blue tape.

The inside pvc pipe cutter by Cocowin performed exceptionally well for my need to cut slats to pass wires through for my homemade pvc antenna stand. The shank fit perfectly in my drill & within seconds I had achieved my goal. Besides cutting slats, the hardy Cocowin pipe diamond grinding wheel will prove to be useful for future plumbing projects & continue to prove its usefulness for a host of different jobs in the shop.

This is a diamond wheel cutter. It works. Attach it to a drill and turn it into a mini saw. Used on a low powered drill to cut through some thick plastic. Definitely more power the better. Careful with it slipping the direction it’s spinning while cutting. For safety should probably use a vise and mask with glove. Good deal. Great find. Made for cutting pvc pipe but could be used to cut other plastic to fabricate.
