Despite a good job of packing protection from the manufacturer, our hood arrived dented on the left side, with a large flake of finish popped off on top. I was able to hammer out the dent and the damaged finish is under the cabinets. Installation is easy and having it prewired with a male plug end is nice, although I had to cut mine off to hard wire it.Buttons are firm, giving an audible pop with each push. Even at its highest speed, the airflow isnโt amazing, but does a reasonable job of removing steam. The LED lights are woefully dim, providing very little illumination to the cooking surface. Itโs a functional range hood but isnโt going to impress with its performance.Iโd give this hood 3.5 stars if I could.

This review is for the TYEMUI Black Range Hood 30 inch Under Cabinet. This hood can be set up either as a recirculation fan, or an exhaust fan to the outide. All of the instructions and included accessories are packaged within the hood itself. You just remove the dishwasher safe metal screens to access these pieces. In my case, I was replacing my 45 year old recirculating range hood located above my stove. Most of the parts were not needed for my installation, as none of the external exhaust pieces were required. I used the original 4 wood screws to mount the hood underneath the cupboard. My original hood was hard wired, so I didn't need the plug as intended by the manufacturer. I simply cut the cord and hard wired the TYEMUI hood to the house wiring. It was a very easy job, but it is even easier if you have a helper to hold the hood in place while you install the screws. Of course, if making an initial external vent type install, it will require more work routing the ducting. The black hood itself is mostly metal, with a few plastic parts incorporated in the build. There are separate buttons for fan speeds of low, medium, and high, as well as a light button, and a fan off button. It has 2 X 1.5 watt circular LED lights for illumination of the stove top. In my opinion, it is not bright enough for me to see well. My wife agreed. Yes, you can see what you are doing, but it is just too dim, without any option for a brighter setting. It is strictly on and off. I asked the manufacturer if brighter LEDs were available, but all they did was send me information on how to change the light bulb.In its recirculation configuration (venting inside the house), I find the fan noisy. I would say it was as noisy as the old hood that I was replacing. The manufacturer claims that at low speed it is silent, and on high it is only 45 dbA. A library's sound level is supposed to be 45 dbA, according to sources on the Internet. I can see it being quieter if exhausting air outside, so perhaps that is what they are referring to in the advertising details. To me, it sounded much louder than a library.Other than those minor issues, the fan hood looks well made and definitely sucked the air as it should. The screens can be washed in the dishwasher, but is recommended that it is done without any dirty dishes as the screens could catch loose food. The seller responded quickly when contacted through Amazon.

Pros:The build quality feels solid and sturdy. The low-profile design fits perfectly under my cabinets without drawing too much attention, blending seamlessly with my kitchenโs aesthetic. The range hood comes with mounting hardware to fit most standard applications, which made the installation process smoother and more convenient for me.This range hood offers flexibility with both ductless and ducted installation. I chose the ducted option to replace my existing range vent, and the installation process was straightforward. The single fan pulls a lot of air, comparable to the two fans in my old range hood ventThe mesh grilles are a standout feature. Theyโre easy to remove and provide open access to clean the single fan insideThe black model was significantly more affordable than the stainless steel version, which played a big role in my decision to purchase it.Cons:The fan operates quietly on the lowest setting, but it becomes quite noisy when you increase the speed. This can be an issue if you frequently need higher ventilation power. The built-in LED lights are very dim, which is disappointing in a kitchen setting where good lighting is essential. Additionally, thereโs no way to upgrade them due to the proprietary design. The control buttons on the front of the range hood have a chrome finish that looks cheap and doesnโt match the sleek, modern look of the rest of the unit. The black color clashes with my white kitchen cabinets. While I would have preferred a stainless steel version to better match my kitchen dรฉcor, I chose the black model due to its lower price. The hood vent only has a single fan. I would prefer a dual-fan setup for better redundancy, as it would ensure continued functionality if one fan were to fail.

I would say this is a mid grade range hood at 300 CFM. Itโs a lot lower power and quieter than some other rain hoods in a similar price point.. this may meet your needs just fine if you donโt want a big loud screaming fan in the kitchen or you donโt cook foods that smoke a lot for me. It just doesnโt suck enough air to properly vent the top of our stove area without lots of overflow, making it not out the fan.. so I think Iโm going to need something a little higher power than this. But everyoneโs needs differ and thatโs just us..The device itself feels well built doesnโt feel too flimsy or cheap, comes with everything you need to mount it properly as well and the metal has a nice black finish on it quite sharp looking. Speaking of sharp the edges werenโt sharp either, which is great for not worrying about cutting your hands during installation.. It was fairly easy to install and using it. Itโs been fairly easy to wipe down. I just wish it had a bit stronger of a motor thatโs all..I would still rated a B+ for quality despite the low CFM fan. And I would recommend it to anyone with those needs..

Easy to install and look very nice. The 600 CFM rating seems inflated. However, it does pull up the smoke. The LED light has only one setting, ON.Labeling for the buttons is poor. All and all it gets the job done at low cost.
