This is a deep box but I guess you need that to have room in front of the plug and yet have the whole thing be recessed. It is all plastic but strong plastic. Comes with two covers, the smoky one that is installed when it arrives and then a white one you can change out the other one for. The white one can be painted to blend right in with you siding. There are multiple holes you can pop out for wires in the back of the box. I plan to use on a front wall of garage between the two doors and it will be a 2x6 wall so the depth will not be a problem and it will give a clean look across the front of the garage. It is a little more than I was expecting cost wise ($27 when writing this) But assuming it holds up it will be worth it.

This product includes nearly everything you need to install or improve an exterior outlet. You just need to supply the outlet. The product is quite similar to a product I installed 11 years ago, so I can assume its durability will be good. This product combines the junction box and the exterior protection flap into a single, integrated box. The installation is simple (if you have some DIY experience) but there are a few details you need to note. The product is 4 inches deep and that means you can install this on a 2x6 outdoor wall or a 2x4 wall with no backing, such as drywall. The product is also 7" tall and 5" wide, so you need to think about the size of your siding before you begin cutting.

This box looks exactly like one I bought and installed from another supplier (see background of photo), and at a slightly lower price. I haven’t installed this one yet because it’s too cold to be stressing vinyl siding, but it seriously looks almost identical in every dimension and aspect. I could argue the price of this one should be still lower given that the other brand is well established.One other quirk is a slight variation in the finish all the way around it, also shown in a photo. I don’t think it will matter once installed, but I thought it worthy of mention.

Well made, did make me go down a code rabit-hole because an inspector mentioned the "extra duty" requirement, turns out that's been altered to only be specifically for flush mounts with "bubble covers" and that other devices (such as this one) can be used and still be code compliant. A well-known manufacturer for these is Arlington (if you need to go down that rabbit hole like I did).So, the boxes are plastic, thick enough to not deform or crack despite squeezing as hard as possible. Includes a swappable cover that can be painted over which is awesome. Two holes are available for cable passthrough, not massive but big enough to handle an average-sized extension cord in each one. It does take approximately 4" of depth to install, but assuming you'd have sheathing and some sort of siding, this would still fit even with 2x4 studs (although would essentially eliminate insulation in that area, so would look to also get an acoustical putty pad to wrap the box, plus a gasket for faceplate to try and limit penetrations.Whats really nice is the 7-hole box, giving tons of entryway options for the box regardless of placement and orientation, plus it includes a push-in cable connector for passing romex through securely.

The low profile electric box is made out a strong plastic similar to other boxes you might find in big box stores. The low profile is really a nice look. It does not protrude out like the normal outside boxes. The instruction are incredibly nice making it very easy for anyone to install one. It comes with sealing compound to makes it waterproof if installed correctly. Since it low profile I would strongly recommend using the compound. The recess outlet box comes complete except the outlet itself. It is well made and has the standard punch out in the back for wiring. In the picture I used heavy duty wiring and oversize plug and their is no problem encapsulating the extension cord fully enclosing the extension cord completely. Very Fast Shipping

This is an excellent box. The hardware it comes with is nice. We are glad that it came with two options for covers. We haven’t had a chance to install it, as the weather hasn’t allowed for it. But it looks to be exactly what we need. The quality is great.

I am planning to install this on my shipping container deck. I like that it is recessed so that it does not stick out far and people wont hit up against it. The design is good and material seems like it is very durable. This waterproof box will be good to have outside worry free.
