Works good on clean steel. Not good marking system if steel has oil surface.

These are way better than a sharpie for precise markings on steel. I'm told that USMC prefers the taste over crayons too!

I had used the type of “lead” that you put in the holder. It was harder to use as the lead would sometimes break. These pencils do better as they are a lot less likely to break. So much more effective.

Came as described. Works great on clean and dirty steel and darker colored metals. These are my go-to as a welder. Will buy again!
