I like the material this cap is made of, but it doesn't fit any of my mouthpieces properly.... I can still use it though, it just sits weird.

I’m not positive which ligature setup Rico sells that this is for going through their catalog. Because I am only seeing table side screw ligatures. Perhaps they could add the suggested ligatures to the information page, I would feel better about this purchase.Overall, it is a rubber cap that feels good. I will keep it because somewhere down the line, I probably will find the right lig.

Used this for a hard to fit Retro Revival metal mouthpiece. Seventh Avenue South. Fits well, great look and feel to the cap

excellent. Good protection, does not slide off, and though it is a hard rubber, it has enough bend to accommodate beefy reed hardware.

Copribocchino ottimo.

Order at your own risk. I received a soprano cap, requested a replacement (explicitly stating I wanted the correct item, not a duplicate incorrect item), got another soprano cap. Also, note in the title it says "Smart Pak" - also incorrect. The first picture and description is correct, it's just the cap, no generic Rico mouthpiece and ligature included. As a side note, examining the soprano cap that I never wanted, the rumor of this being the "silent cap" if it were to fall on a stage is only partially correct - there is an area, including the tip, that is bare plastic. It isn't as loud when I dropped it on my desk compared to an all plastic cap, but it's still quite loud. Also, there are two vents in the tip area. In addition to reed protection, the cap is often used by performers to maintain the current wetness/humidity of their reed during long pauses, tacets, switching to another horn, etc. The vents would counteract this secondary, but very useful, element of the mouthpiece cap.

Have an APC mouthpiece using the Rico H ligature for Bari sax. Standard Bari sax mpc. cover was too big, this tenor one fits perfectly. Also like the quality of this cover.

I can't count how many saxophone and clarinet mouthpiece caps I've gone through over the years. Plastic ones break from trying to take off the mouthpiece when the reed and cap are on, metal ones dent my instruments or are incredibly loud when dropped in the orchestra pit in the middle of a show (yup). So when I finally found this cap, I bought them for all my saxophones and clarinets. The plastic has a very high rubber content in it, so it is extremely durable and hard to bend even if you tried. It's so rubbery that I was even able to slice pieces off of it with a razor blade (be VERY careful) to make it fit with my ligatures on both my tenor, alto, and clarinet. The snug fit makes it very comfortable to grab and move around with the reed and ligature on. Highly recommended.
