These are certainly more expensive that other options, but they work on hardened tubing without breaking and seem to last in terms of cutting ability.

I have been cutting lots of 1" stainless steel tubing (for boat biminis and dodgers) and 3/4" galvanized conduit tube.My first wheel lasted for years and only broke after I severely abused it by cutting 1" stainless steel tubing with an inner core of 7/8" stainless. The cutter came with a spare wheel but I did not want to be running without a spare.I ordered this and was very pleasantly surprised to receive a package containing two new wheels. Should be enough to last me for many years.

Title says what I need to say. I'm replumbing my whole house, and I've made many dozens of cuts with this wheel, and it's still quite sharp and cutting great.I own a Ridgid 29963. Cuts wimpy 1/2" M grade copper like butter. Cuts 1" L grade quickly, and leaves a nice even cut for soldering. Great!

I almost gave up searching for something that meets the severe demands of my tube fabrication workshop, whatever I have used earlier were either of poor quality or design. Not this one. I plan to build up my cabinet with all tools by Ridgid now.

I was making a lot of cuts in 3/16" 304 stainless brake tubing, and the stock wheel that was in my cutter wore out rapidly. I switched to this wheel, and the working life of the wheel increased by at least sixfold. Of course, using the correct tool for the job is something that should always be done, and this is a perfect example of why.Nice smooth cuts with decreased cutting effort, which is appreciated at the end of the day. An occasional drop of oil around the bearing is probably a good idea, but maybe that's just me being "old school".
