This tape can be used on tile, marble, laminate, wood and carpet. For best results, position the tape down on the surface, peel, cut to size, place rug or mat over, and apply pressure to set in place. It releases quickly, allowing you to easily reposition your rugs. It is safe, non-toxic, and odor free. This is an easy and time-saving alternative to adhesive or tack strip.

I attempted to lay down some rolled carpet corners and the tape would not stick to the floor or the carpet.

Followed instructions, fully, including prep of floor. The tape didn’t stick to the hardwood floor at all. And when attempting to separate the layer in order to put carpet down on top, the entire tape simply lifted up. Would not recommend

We used this tape to hold several area rugs in place. Works perfectly! Tape is easy to remove and did not damage the wood floor in any way. The only reason i gave this 4 stars is because it's difficult to peel the backing off initially when getting ready to apply. Once you get it started it's smooth sailing. Even with that said, I would definitely recommend!

Not so great for securing a rug to an existing carpet. Not as sticky as advertised. Need to find another solution.

Bought to use on area rugs on top of carpet. Can be hard to get the backing off, but comes off easy once you get it started. Doesn't really keep the rugs in place well. Ended up purchasing a different product.

We bought this to hold our stair runners in place on a wood staircase. It was easy to cut and has held up well. I haven't tried to take it off, but it seemed like that wouldn't be a problem. The adhesive was good, but not so sticky that I though "uh oh, that's never coming off."

Update: After following advice I received, we applied Roberts Double-Sided Carpet Seam Tape to the backside of the carpet first and then applied this Roberts Removable tape in the exact same size pieces as the Seam tape. We then put the carpet in place and it has not budged at all in weeks, even with our foot traffic, our wild temperature swings, etc. We’ve upgraded to 5-stars but do suggest Roberts manufacture a tape with a strong bond on one side and the removable side on the other. Original post: Brand new coarse weave berber-type carpet and our installer made matching 2ft x 6ft runners to protect the entry areas. We vacuumed the carpet and even the back side of the runners to ensure any manufacturing dust was removed. Cutting and measuring the tape was smooth. We applied the tape exactly as directed and even used a laminate roller we have to ensure a tight bond. We then peeled-back the blue adhesive protective tape and immediately applied the runners. We pressed the runners firmly and then left them to cure with no traffic. We entered the room again after being away at work all day and the room was at a constant 75F. However, after the first few steps in and out (no children, no pets- just me and my wife) the runners immediately started moving and the Roberts tape was clearly exposed and needless to say, not sticking at all. It was holding fairly well to the main carpet, but does not hold at all to the carpet backing. We had remnants of a completely different carpet and decided to do a test and it too would not hold the remnants to the main floor covereing carpet. We also did a third experiment and applied the Roberts tape to a clean concrete floor and again the tape held to the concrete, but didn't hold any of the carpet that was placed on it. And YES- we did peel back the blue protective film. In my opinion, the tape's mesh is too thin and the adhesive a little too weak to hold it to the underside of carpet. While it's understood that the value of this product is that it's removable, the adhesive is just a little too week to grab anything. Maybe we received a roll that was old and the adhesive was already oxidized and unable to grip? I would not recommend this product as it really doesn't seem to do well on “carpet on carpet” applications even though the product is advertised as being able to do so.

I have a rather long runner in the upstairs hallway that was always sliding around even though there's a rug pad underneath. Not a good situation. Used the tape to hold it in place and so far it's working perfectly. In the past I have used a product that looks identical to this item to hold stair treads in place on my wooden floors. Five years after installing them with the tape they still stay in place! Have had no issues with residue when rug tape is removed.

I put this on all the rugs in my house and it was amazing... until I lifted the rugs off to clean it. They were still stick to the floor but no gripping the rug after that. Had to peel it off and reapply new strips. This big roll is pretty good as there is enough to do my whole house, but every time I want to clean the rugs I have to reapply it? No thanks, will stick with the rubber pads.
