Sensor on our pool heater kept reading E05 (error 05). We replaced the sensor and heater is up and running without issues.

The hot tub stopped heating and the display read E05. I looked it up and everything pointed to a bad stack flu sensor. I quickly got on Amazon and ordered the 2 pack bc it was almost as cheap as a single. Took me about 20 minutes to install. It would have been faster but whoever installed the heater only left about 4 inches between the back of the heater and the wall. So, I had to remove the front and back cover as well as the top. I put everything back together and the hot tub is currently heating up to 104. Ah yeah.I compared the quality of the sensor on the old and the new. I could tell the original was poorly made because bare wire was exposed at the back where the wires go in.Tip: Turn off the breaker before you try to replace the sensor! It may save you from a shocking incident.

I live in an area with significant rodent action… this was my second sensor in this pool heater unit, the previous one was a failure due to a rodent chewing the wire. If you may have this issue, I recommend ordering a spook of stainless wire braid and cover the leads of any sensitive wiring to protect the leads. No problems once I did that.
