Worked Great. Didn't Know I Needed It Until I Replaced The Passenger Side Blend Door Actuator and Noticed The Old One Had disintegrated. Wife is now happy. Happy Wife Happy Life.

This product saved me from a 2000 dealership repair bill. It was fairly easy to install. Just make sure you have the proper tool that could be purchased from the local auto parts store. As soon as it was installed I had cold air blowing out of my vent again.

2015 grand cherokee - blend door gear on driver side broke. Easy to diagnose, the gear fell down to the floor. Very difficult to replace. Took a 39 year's experienced mechanic (fixes sanitation trucks) and his mechanically inclined son 3 hours to replace. The part works great, fit perfectly, and moves the blend door exactly as it should. Accessing the top screw to remove the motor proved very difficult to access even for a professional mechanic with all the tools.

The A/C quite working on the driver's side of my wife's 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Passenger side worked fine. Turns out the original gear from the factory had broke, which is a common issue on these vehicles. I wish it had been the passenger side since that repair is 10 times (okay maybe more like 100 times) easier. The repair on the driver's side is a big project because of the trim, wiring, brackets, and knee air bag under the steering wheel, but I got it done. From my research dealer charges $1,300 to $1,600 for performing this repair on the drivers side. Note - Especially when repairing the drivers side since it's so hard to get to you might want to replace the actuator whether it's broken or not. Most times it's the gear. Sometimes it's the actuator. I put the new actuator in and saved the old one in case the passenger side breaks. All in all with the gear, the actuator and a small ratchet tool to swap the parts out I was into it for around $50. Also note: the teeth on the two gears need to be lined up with the two pieces aligned in the "W" shaped notch like in the attached picture. To others that commented that it broke rather quickly after re-install, they likely did not have it re-aligned correctly when they installed. Some people re-calibrate it, but it was not needed on my wife's Jeep. I am appreciative this part was readily available at a good price.
