It's pretty great. Battery seems to last for a couple days. Everything else Meshtastic looks like something the TSA should certainly not let me board a plane with, but this is sleek and unassuming. Easy enough to just hand to someone to start using without being overwhelming. Bluetooth range is surprisingly good -- I can stay connected to it from the other side of the house. You can get extra charging cables, and it's not proprietary. Look for 4-pin magnetic 7.62mm and you'll find a bunch.

Not Compatible with T-beam Devices. If you are just running a small network with noting but Sensecap devices, than you have no problem. If you are trying to enter a network that uses T-Beam devices for nodes or network infrastructure you will not be able to communicate with them. This is a bit of a problem, as the T-Beam is one of the most common devices out there. Your T1000 will be seen by the network, but you will not be able to communicate with them. I guess this is a known issue.I will be using my T1000s solely as tracking devices for my puppydog. They still work for that.

Absolutely incredible device. I've used a lot of different Meshtastic devices and this one is by far the best built and most convenient. I don't love having a proprietary charging cable, but I get that it helps with the waterproofing. Otherwise, it's amazing for an EDC mesh device. Sit's flush against my phone in my pocket, and doesn't have any easy to push buttons to accidentally hit, like pretty much all other Meshtastic devices. Sensitivity is very impressive for such a small antenna. Battery last a little over 2 days, with moderate usage. This is the only one I recommend now to friends, unless they're building a repeater.

This will not synch with the Mechastic app. It offers two default codes. Neither works. Because I'm stubborn, I'll fight with it some more, but if you want a device that just works out of the box... this isn't for you. And, by the way, the device is shrink wrapped, has no user manual to deal with starting it up, and honestly, is has a very steep learning curve. Try a different mechtastic device.

Seems to work just fine. Battery life is about a day and a half, which is impressive given how small it is.

This thing is really slick. I think the people drawn to Meshtastic are usually the DIY tinkerer types and one of the draws is that you can come up with your own custom solution where you source the microprocessor/LoRa board and the battery and voltage converters and whatnot and then 3D print a case or whatever. People have come up with some really slick designs for not much money. That being said, this is on another level that you are not going to be able to DIY and have it all fit into such a small/slim package with this feature set and performance. You are getting a professionally designed and manufactured product here and for not much more than it costs to DIY something. The built-in buzzer is great so you can get an audible notification when you have a message. That way you don't need to have your phone connected to it all the time to get audible notifications from the phone, which saves a bit of power. The fact that this is so small and it's waterproof makes it perfect for camping/hiking or even just throwing it into a pocket or bag for everyday use. Would also be great for festivals where cell service is non-existant or spotty due to tower being overloaded. Each person in your group having one of these in their pocket and then you can still text each other. The only thing I don't love is the fact it uses a non-standard USB 4-pin magnetic data/charging cable. I understand why they went with that and I think it's a fair tradeoff given the size and utility of this device. You can get extra charging cables for dirt cheap directly from Seeed Studio's website. The box has a QR code that takes you to an excellent online user manual that includes all the info you need to get started, in both text/image format as well as video format. Really really great instructions that make it a breeze to get up and running with zero mestastic experience. I was able to flash to latest firmware and adjust all my settings and be up and running in about 30min from the time I took it out of the box until everything was done...and 3/4 of that time was just reading/learning.
