If you aren't a pro rider then this is an excellent component choice you in the Shimano's lineup.This hub does an excellent job of keeping out dirt and mud and if you rinse it carefully instead of using a high pressure wash system you won't have to worry about water intrusion.

There is very little rolling resistance if the bearing spacers are set at the correct tightness. I am using this to build a front wheel for a motorized bicycle, using 12 gauge spokes for added wheel strength. If using 12 gauge spokes, you will have to drill the spoke holes in the flanges a little bigger to accept the spokes.

Unless you're a pro you don't need anything else then XT. Can't beat the quality for the price, Unless you want to spend $400 plus for a set of hubs....
