I have had This tool for 3 months. Once you get use to where the "0" markings are when measuring...you can't seem to put it down. Marking/caliber/depth/height and some, are all in this tool. The model I got doesn't have the adjusted plastic screw...but it slides with no side to side.It does speed up measuring [once you understand where the *0* marking is for what you're using the tool for].I tested for square over a sheet of plywood...(drawer a line...then flip...it met the 1st line exactly. I have a Harvey T-square and it failed this test for square one the sheet.I like the tool...would recommend as well.

This gauge is too expensive. It doesn't feel premium in your hands but like cheap piece of aluminum.

This is a nicely constructed and accurate piece of equipment in the quality range of a Woodpeckers tool. I bought it on a whim and have used it several times in the last few weeks. It does what it does well. Yet, in my case it is a redundant piece of kit. I own many combination squares of various sizes, as well as other rulers, gauges, and various other marking and measuring tools. This will take its turn in the rotation for marking lines parallel to an edge or locating a point.

The product I received was much better than some of the reviews. This item is as accurate as any calibrated tool I own. I immediately put it to work and it has become my go to tool for measurement.

The Pentel 0.5mm Pencil is a standard pencil the "office" world has been using for years. This square is also using this same mechanical pencil, however it is the least expensive Pentel pencil made; which that in itself is not necessarily a bad thing - it's just has a very very short "feed" barrel and is less than 50% the length needed. The reason this is important? Because the 0.5mm pencil nests into the inside corner of the square with the measurement markings beginning exactly at the 0.5mm point (the design & manufacturing tolerances for this tool was (it appears) set to embrace the barrel shaft diameter so the pencil's graphite lands exactly at the "0" (zero) beginning point. Since the barrel is not long enough AND with the angle of the pencil support "nub" angling towards the point barrel, you end up with that variable influencing the actual marking "start" point. Therefore, the result is filled with that beginning inaccuracy. The Square itself is fantastic! Very well made.Oh, and the box proclaims in the 4th bullet point "EASY-TO-READ THERMAL - WOODRAPHIC'S construction accessory comes with a square, 0.5mm sharp pencil..." (And you know my observations there - but here comes the 1st lie) "... and an ALLEN wrench. Each blade has..." (There is no Allen Wrench.) "... a layout of 2-holes on the handle surface, promising enhance precision." (That's the 2nd lie - but THANK GOODNESS, because it actually has 4 symmetrically spaced holes in the "tang" of the handles - which is EXCELLENT!) For myself, I use my "long barrel" Pentel Graph Gear 1000 Automatic Drafting Pencils - 0.5 mm Lead - it's not perfect either, but is sooo much better. The true answer is for this tool to be machined with a thinner handle so as to allow the 0.5mm mechanical pencils to work properly.

Perfectly square. Graduations are accurate. The design is smart. The T bar of the ruler is 1cm so it makes for easy adaptation.I would consider the longer units but it appears that the length of the square doesn't scale up with length. An improvement idea is to mill in a hole in the T to hold a pencil in place when sliding.
