I bought this because I couldn’t make the original one reload. I bought this thinking (hoping) that it would come already with the string loaded. Alas, it was included, but not ready to work. I then watched a video on YouTube and the guy made it look so easy. I tried his way, and I was trimming in five minutes!

I ordered this replacement trimmer head after I broke the one that came with my trimmer. It was a perfect fit and my trimmer is good as new.

This trimmer head is LT4818-10. My trimmer head is LT4818-00. It was a perfect fit. I am so happy with this purchase. It is working very well for me. I started using SKIL product about 3 years ago, I have to say they are going to be around for a long time because their products work perfectly, and they last long.

I think this is better then the one that came with the weedeater. Yes, it's plastic, so was the original but that one had thin areas and those broke. This appears heavier, no weak areas.

As the heading says, this is a SKIL product. I'm not sure who wrote the instructions and they do not appear to be translated from a foreign language. There are 3 notable things wrong in the instructions. First it says you will need an impact drill to remove the center nut. Nope, regular socket wrench will work. Second, it says the nut is a 9/16" and they supply you with a new one. Both the old one and the new one are 1/2 inch. Third, the instructions say you must wind the trimming cord in the direction of the arrows on the head (clockwise) but no, it winds up counter clockwise (opposite of the arrow direction). Try as you may you cannot wind the cord on in the direction of the arrows. It's pretty easy to change out if you crack the old one the way I did. I couldn't find the replacement on the SKIL website and the site I usually use for replacement parts said it was "obsolete" but I readily found it on Amazon.
