These are nice, well built tripods. They will work fine for my roof-mounted antennas.They arrived folded up inside plastic bags inside boxes, but the bags were open on one end and the hardware was loose (the hardware for securing the masts). I found some of the hardware rattling around inside the plastic bags, but some of it was also missing. It would not be difficult for someone to tighten the hardware or, at least, staple the bags closed before shipping them.

using this tripod to mount a waterproof plastic enclosure on a 8' 1" PVC pipe when camping to provide wifi in the woods!works great, very sturdy!The only issue is I keep losing bolts/nuts when traveling with it - need to take them all out (or tighten them all up) when it's packed for transport!

I recently bought the Skywalker - 5' Heavy Duty Antenna Tripod to use with my ham radio 4 element beam antenna with a rotor. It was easy to install and all you need to purchase other than the tripod are the lag bolts which I purchased here at Amazon and they worked well also. After getting everything mounted on the roof its nice and sturdy and looks good and now I have quick access to my antenna to tie it down or take it down completely when threatened with a hurricane as we have already had two this year and another one possibly on the way. The tripod is made of good material and is sturdy. I do recommend after you get it installed that you use a good sealing compound all around the pads of the tripod and all the rivets and bolts to protect them from the elements and ensure against any leaks in the roof. Glad I bought it, it was a good purchase.

I needed a way to mount my SL dishy about 8-9 ft above the roof peak to clear the tree line. This tripod was perfect. I used it in conjunction with the SL "ground mount pole" to get a final height of about 9 ft. I added two lengths of uni-strut to spread the legs over to the rafter 24" centers and secured them with 6" lag bolts then tar. Very securely mounted and not afraid of any wind. I was a little worried about long term wear on the alimunim rivets so I drilled them out and installed 1/4" bolts/nuts in about 12 locations. I pre-installed a guy-wire ring just in case, but it's been holding up great. This setup is solid and will probaby outlast me.On arrival the box was a bit damaged, but the tripod inside was wrapped and undamaged. Easy set up. It holds the center pole securely, but be aware the legs DO NOT fall on 24" centers, so you will have to use something to make them reach the rafters. Refer to the pictures.
