I needed a way to make sure my husband didn’t stand from a sitting position without assistance if I was in another room. He has Orthostatic Hypotension and needs to be watched at all times. The chair pressure pad has allowed me to be in another room and still monitor his movements with the pager.

I’ve been using this product in helping me care for my mother while still allowing me to get my own rest. I have the pad under Mom’s mattress and take the remote into my own room. When she sits up, the alarm is instantaneous in alerting me to her movement. Even when in deep sleep, the alarm is quite loud and wakes me. This gives me time to get to her bedside. (I have started using it in conjunction with an in-room camera so I can see if she’s just sitting up to get a tissue or if she is getting up to stand.) The settings are vibrate or tone. Vibrate works great when I’m close enough to her that I don’t want her to be alarmed by the noise, and when I’m vacuuming. A good, strong vibration. The alarm is quite loud with no volume adjustment. Loud is the only option, but again, it is effective when I’m asleep. Thanks for this great tool in helping me care for my loved one AND allowing me to care for myself.

My husband has Parkinson’s and has fallen quite a few times. However, he still wants to get up from his chair whenever he wants something. The chair pad alerts me instantly when he gets up so that I can assist him.

I have a friend who has a mother with dementia. It has gotten so bad, that the mother forgets that she is unable to walk any more, and tends to fall a lot if no one is with her at that very moment. This is a big help, as we just put it on her favorite chair, under a blanket and any time the sensor feels the weight shift it sends a notification the the large pager. It won't prevent all accidents, but it has prevented many falls so far. If you have an elderly family member at home, or in a facility, especially if they suffer from any form of dementia, this is a must have! It may help prevent a serious injury. I definitely recommend.

This alarm helps me to be able to get other things done. If he lifts his hips off the pad, it let's me know. This helps to keep him safe

If you are getting this because you are caring for an elderly relative and want to be able to move about the house, I would suggest pairing this with a baby monitor. Combination of both will let you sleep as well.I got this pad to use to prevent an elderly relative from falling and injuring herself. This was a life saver for her and me. I installed this in addition to a baby monitor. This one is the chair version, however my more immediate need at the time was being able to go to her aid when she got up in middle of night. This worked under the bed sheets and it did not shift when she got up, but it was small so I got false alarms when she shifted her sleeping position. When I hear the pager go off, I'd check the baby monitor to see if she has indeed gotten up and need assistance.It was easy to pair and turn on, transmission signal on the receiver was strong even when I was at the far corner of the house from her bedroom. Seeing that it worked well, I ordered the large bed version and used this one under the cushion of her favorite chair. Once the bed version arrived and was placed under her bed sheet, it worked perfectly, no more false alarms when she shifted, I could see on my baby monitor that it went off only when she sat up, which gave me enough time to get to her room and assist.I was barely sleeping before this pad arrived and was relying on a baby monitor to monitor her movement through the night. This pad definitely helped me get the sleep I needed and peace of mind as well. Recommend.
