Nice to have the variety of functions in a single bit of kit, but as others have said, readings may vary considerably in the same medium.

I was really excited to try out the YINMIK Smart Soil Test Device, especially with all the great features it offers, like the pH, moisture, EC, and temperature monitoring. It seemed like the perfect tool for my garden. The device itself seems well-built and offers convenient access to a lot of data to manage my garden, which is exactly what I was looking for. However, after multiple attempts and a lot of time spent troubleshooting, I’ve been unable to connect the device to my iPhone. Unfortunately, without the ability to sync with my phone, the device feels pretty useless to me, as the app is a key part of its functionality. I really wanted to make this work, but I’m disappointed that the connection issue makes it hard to get full use out of the product. Hopefully, this can be resolved with future updates or a more reliable connection method.

This is a bit more robust for my purposes since I really only needed a moisture meter; but it does test the soil pH as well among a few other things. This may not be for someone like me who is not a serious plant enthusiast. For someone with a serious setup or a large hydroponic growing arena, this would be something worth having around. But for this price, I would not recommend it for a simple moisture meter. Definitely a good buy for a more robust setup.

This seemed to work well for some tests but others it seemed off. Some of it I think it need to sit in the soil for a while as some of the initial readings were very high but then went down when I checked it the next day. One note, I thought this was something you can leave in the soil but it says not to leave it in for more than 72 hours which was not what I was expecting. Now I did not run the PH calibration and it did seem off as the PH first was around 13 but the next day was reading around 6 so a big difference between 24 hours. The moisture reading seemed accurate, the pot was bone dry when I first put it in, then I watered the plant and it picked up that wetness right away.
