Well built, well packaged, very compact, makes a great DAC for phone, tablet. Particularly like the different colour LED light indicating the level of resolution that is currently being streamed.

Simple and clean. Used to improve clock of Wiim Ultra via USB output. It works.

Positioned between the USB output of a streamer and the SPD/F input of the DAC. I couldn't do anything to increase an extremely low volume of sound. There was nothing more I could do. A similar product from Douk audio connected exactly the same way works fine. I'm thinking I got a bad one but have bothered trying to return this.

I have the PO100 connected to a Raspberry Pi running Linux (Raspberry Pi OS Lite), with CamillaDSP installed. Linux automatically detectd it and it showed up as an available output device in CamillaDSP (hw:AUDIO,0,0).I have spent north of 15 hours listening through it and have not had a single issue. It sounds fantastic, as I expected it would based its review at Audio Science Review (it is rated as "State of the Art" based on the suite of measurements they performed).

PC USB kabeltje aansluiten, optisch of coax naar DAC en draaien maar. Mooi klein ding dat nauwelijks opvalt en makkelijk kan worden verdekt.

If you get this product and it has a really low volume output, there is a firmware update you can install from SMSL that will fix this problem. I spent a solid chunk of time looking through forums and I found the answer on Audio Science Review. Look for a thread called "SMSL PO100, PO100 PRO & PO100 AK Measurements". About the middle of page 15 is the fix, and from there it works as expected for me without issue.

I was not expecting much from an inexpensive digital signal converter. So many people will say that 1s and 0s are 1s and 0s. They will tell you that there is no difference in digital sound, but this device proves them wrong. the XMOS chip certainly does provides smoothness and detail to the sound. It solved the problem I was having with my Mac Mini used as a streamer. Certain files were glitching. There was a skip at the same place in certain streaming files that was consistent and very noticeable. This is now gone with these files. The second problem it solved was one I did not know I have. Experts talk about computer noise. This is not noise you can hear but it degrades the quality of the sound. With the PO100 I can hear a small but noticeable difference in quality. I noticed specifically the rattle of snares on the snare drum at the beginning of Sax and Violins by the Talking Heads. Without the PO100 the snare hit had a vibrato but with it the sound of the snares was clear. Great upgrade with very little investment.

This is a great device with just one problem, sometimes the sound cuts out. It's more common at higher sample rates. It appears to be a problem decoding sudden loud audio. Latest v3.84 firmware, and over both optical and coax outputs. (And so far technical support email has gone unanswered.)

I recently acquired a SMSL SU-1 and was impressed with its performance. I also needed spdif out to feed my MSB dac and getting the SMSL PO 100 was a no brainer, considering the high audio quality of their product offerings. Set up was easy and obtaining the drivers from the SMSL website was an easy task. After configuring the device from the XMOS app, the pairing between the DAC and the PO100 was excellent. The detail and range in the music was immensely appreciable. The SMSL PO 100 feeds toslink and co-axial outputs simultaneously and it solves my problem using two dacs - MSB and a custom TDA1541A dac. Finally AOSHIDA HIFI offered the best value on Amazon. I highly recommend the SMSL PO 100 for the audiophile toolbox.
