Solera Sliders by Lippert Components provide attractive and economical protection for all of your slide rooms. The Black Solera Slider attaches to both the slide room and the outside wall of the RV, creating a complete seal around the slide room. Dust, smoke, leaves, bugs and debris are blocked by the sleeve even when the slide room is retracted back into the RV. First one arrived, was installed, and immediately failed at the attachment point to the rig (seam not sealed properly during manufacturing process). Returned that one and ordered a replacement, which showed up so smashed up that there was no end on the tube and the bag of mounting hardware was no longer there. Have now started the return on this one, but a replacement won’t show up in time to install before we depart on our last trip of the season. Maybe next year?

The seam along the cord that slides into the channel pulled apart cleanly starting in the middle. This was only its second short trip. I think it must be old stock and the fabric is bad. I also purchased 2 others from different suppliers and they are working like a champ. I would avoid this one.

Square head Robertson screws had been painted. #2 bit did not fit some of them. Had to grind the bit a bit smaller. #1 bit was way to small.

I highly recommend this product. There is a YouTube video to help you install it. Embarrassing but, I installed it by myself as my wife had knee surgery and couldn’t help. Don’t recommend installing it alone but it’s possible! Looks great, operation is smooth in and out. It actually covers a little wider than my old one… You’ll need a lubricant for the bead track and sealer calk or beutyl tape which are not included. Everything is delivered in on big tube by a freight truck. Mine came to Lady Lake FL in literally 3 days!!Delivery was FAST… very happy with this product & seller!

Liked the quick delivery, installation easy and it looks and matches the color scheme of camper.I did make a mistake on installation, my fault, and was quoted a 5 week delivery wait. I ended up ordering a shaft and making a part myself.I highly recommend this slide cover, be careful installing.

The measurement instructions are wrong. If you measure according to instructions the awning will barely cover the slide box.

I installed an A&E brand 12 foot slide out awning on another RV that we owned years ago. The A&E awning had good installation information. Fortunately, I had that experience to fall back on when installing the Black Lippert RV Solera Awning 12' Slider, because there are no installation instructions provided with the Lippert. Using Google, I found LCI Lippert Components Inc general installation instructions for their Solera awnings. But that document did not include information explaining which self-taping screws are used on the mounting brackets or other hardware. Also, there are no awning rails provided with the Lippert slider awning. Some RVs already have them mounted above the slide out. My 5th wheel trailer didn't have awning rails. So, I found the best deal online at Vintage Trailer Supply. The ones I bought are sold in 8 foot lengths. The Lippert slider awning worked out fine for me. I just want people to know what they are up against with a do it yourself installation. I hope this helps!
