Worked great until shortly after the return window was up. We put in some chicken breasts at bedtime and woke up to a funny sound from the kitchen. This Sous Vide stick had heated the water to 208, it was set for 139. The water had evaporated below the minimum line but the stick failed to shut off. I’m imagining if we had left for work instead of being home, not heard it and the heating element stayed on after the water was completely gone or if we didn’t hear it and kept sleeping. I tried unplugging it, resetting it, tapping the power button but it just kept going full power. I’m interested in hearing others who have this past the warranty’s expiration.

There is something very fishy about this product. Amazon lists it as an "Outohomo" sous vide cooker. However, a search reveals that there does not seem to be any such company listed anywhere on the net. And the product arrived with with no manufacturer identification at all, either on the packaging or in the poorly-worded user manual. No company name or address, no customer service contact information, no warrantee information, nothing. Seems there is nothing a customer can do for service or if if the product is defective. It all seems very fishy. On the plus side, the product looks good and is sized very well. And if it is actually 1300 watts, that is impressive.

The best way to cook meat. Makes everything so tender on the inside and allows you to quickly sear the outside locking in all the foods flavor.

The sous vide cooker is easy to use straight out the box. The instructions are very clear. My only issue is that like a lot of appliances these days, they want you to use an app or QR code to access recipes. The app can give you recipes and such. That’s all well and good IF this was the WiFi version, so that doesn’t apply to this version.Of course, I can and did look up sous vide recipes online, however, I’ve always liked to get recipes and ideas straight from the product for initial use.Anyway, I decided to make the Starbucks egg bite dupes. Very easy. It took about 30 minutes for the water to heat up to the desired temperature. You set the time when you set the temperature, so once the temperature is set, it goes into the time requested.I’m looking forward to trying new recipes.I would highly recommend this. We do have a vacuum sealer, so we don’t have to worry about water sealing bags and can just use the vacuum sealer for sous vide bags.
