Worked great to convert my 57 chevy from generator to alternator. I did some drilling to get the holes to line up with the factory ram horn manifold.

I bought two of these in hopes I'd need them to mount a 12v alternator in the Model A. Turns out that the Old Air Products A/C negated the need. Have two for sale- 50% off.

While tightening the provided bolts that attach the alternator bracket (42273) to the head mounted bracket one of the bolts sheared off. Upon further inspection these bolts appear to be Metric Grade 4.8. For a bolt of this size (17mm socket heat) I would expect a much stronger bolt (Grade 8.8 or 10.8). Note: I broke this using simple hand tools (two wrenches) not an impact gun.If the bolts are weak enough to break it makes me worry about the longevity of the rest of the product!

Quality product. Holds the alternator in place and straight so that the belt lines up properly and doesn't throw it off. Metal is of decent thickness. Chrome is good, not perfect, but not much of the bracket is visible once the alternator is installed. If you don't have an O.E.M. bracket or are using headers this is a excellent solution.
